CZ 452 SCOUT - Love Thread, Share your Pics, Experiences, Questions, Answers

I have been humming and hawing over which scope to mount on this Scout as my son tried my scoped .22 and really liked it (his Rascal has a red dot). I was seriously considering a used Leupold VX1 2-7x28mm due to the light weight, but at only three ounces more I ordered a Burris Timberline 4-14x32mm that was the same price. I was over on RFC and I think I will be able to mount this scope using Burris medium Signature rings, which I have a set around here somewhere already.

I was talking to Clay at Prophet about bringing in that Burris scope for me as he didn't have it listed so I sent him an Amazon link - he told me to snag the Amazon one as it was listed cheaper than his cost now; so I ordered that today. I love that guy's honesty.

So my scope arrived and well, Dad has to test it on his 452 UL before I mount it on my sons' Scout; then I will give them the rifle with the scope mounted after that set-up also gets 'tested'.

Burris Timberline 4.5-14 x 32mm mounted using Burris Signature medium rings. This set-up just barely clears the rear sight with the AO twisted out to 7 yards.

Well, this thread just cost me some money. I've always liked the scout but was never quite ready to buy one, now that the 452 is done I figured it's now or never. I almost waited too long, after numerous calls / internet searching to many gun stores in the country I was able to find one! (Might of been the last one in Canada, who knows?) Looking forward to receiving it!

Good move, you might have gotten the last one!

You might find the Timberline a little fussy in the eye relief dept, nice compact scope but they had to compromise somewhere. I have one that I bounce around doing the scope dance.

I did find the eye relief fussy indeed on the first range trip, but the glass is clear and once you find the 'spot', it is very easy to shoot with both eyes open. The parallax is easily adjustable and the adjustment through the zoom range was stiff but didn't require parallax adjustment. I think it will be a good first scope for my sons' Scout.

Here is the target from sighting in the Burris - I only had the 25y range available as the RCMP had the rifle range booked. Top 10 shot groups are CCI SV the lower groups are Aquila, shot off a front rest and shouldered on the butt. Target squares are 1" diameter.

The Scout arrived in the mail today, I'm very pleased with everything. The stock has a very nice look to it (nicer than many I have seen online) and I was presently surprised to see it came with both a single shot adapter as well as a 5 shot mag sitting alone in the box. (Everywhere else I read seems to only come with a single shot.).

Money well spent!

Congratulations, the dealer you bought your Scout from treated you well. The extra 5 round mag is a nice touch!

That extra mag is worth $40. Congrats! How about a picture?
