I tried for a customer last week. I could only find one company in the U.S that made them. I still have that customers contact details if anyone has any leads on these, please let me know
Well, there are two other options.
The cheap option is to remove the buffer retaining pin all together. You'll just have to remember to very carefully remove the upper when you field strip it of you'll get a surprise each time.
The second option is expensive ie, remove the buffer retaining pin and pickup a JP Silent Captured Spring buffer.
Done that a few times. Cmmg 22 kit in a nea lower. The conversion kit wont work with that specific lower because the pin hole is machined out of spec, so i removed the retainer pin. Needless to say, i had to explain to the wife why there is a round spike tactical logo imprinted on the wall.
LOL, that's like a Jack in The Box each time on cleaning day. Surprise!
I guess if one had a metal lathe, the could just chuck the buffer in it and remove off a small ring around the circumference about 1/32" or so deep just enough for the buffer to kiss the back of the carrier.
Found Leitner makes a heavy duty retaining pin. One could file down the face to make an offset one.

Or buy a rifle that is built to spec.
You mean you only got the one AR so you can't test another carrier before buying another? Well if you don't have an AR friend to experiment with and you do buy another carrier, well, might as well build another AR around it or that carrier will just sit around gathering dust.![]()
Yeah, that was the place I came up with. I would expect you could order it direct from them but there are lots of other great ideas above. That's the part I love about CGN (the #####ing and whining not so much)![]()
You'd pay $15 + for a buffer retainer pin? What kind of shape is the buffer face in?
What kind of buffer tube are you using? I'd be tempted to thread the tube in more and mess with an indentation/notch in the tube to allow the pin clearance before paying that much for an aftermarket pin.
It's a Dlask lower which I figured would be in spec. It's an NEA upper and BCG which I had issues fitting with the lower. However when I asked they were adamant their stuff was within spec.
This is why I mentioned that maybe another BCG might be slightly longer and fix the issue...
But as far as this lower, im kinda past the point of no return. May as well try and make it work.
Well Dlask is like Norinco Canada and NEA is akin to having your rifle made by a one armed chimpanzee with Parkinson's. You've already had problems with the NEA "parts" and it appears the lower receiver is out of spec and you want to add more out of spec parts to solve this out of spec problem.. See where this is leading?
