Showoff your SHORTY 12G SHOTTY (14" or under and Mods)!

I'll take a wild guess and say 14''

Ah sarcasm...making unfunny guys funny since the early 90s...

It was a comment directed at the fact that it's a decked out and capable desert themed combat shotgun that is essentially resorted to being a ventilated and air conditioned range toy.

My gun case can carry either my 14" or my wife's 12.5"

My 14" setup for "single point" carry when the light is mounted

My wife's 12.5" with sling pulled tight, light mount will be used for the Inforce WML I still need to order

Her shotgun also sports a XS Big Dot, sling opened up for shoulder carry

I am really happy with how both of these shotguns turned out. Internally both have the yellow trigger spring, Non MIM extractors, S&J oversized safeties, as well as stronger carrier springs.

Did you just attach the rail by drilling two holes and screwing it on? A silly question but I am pretty useless when it comes to stuff like that.

I was hoping to get a setup just like that but ended up getting the Magpul foreend. Would prefer to keep the Hogue if I can figure out how to mount a light to it...

I used threaded hole inserts like these from Home Depot but with coarser threads. The inserts I used were already threaded inside to match the threads on the bolts that came with the rail sections.

The way I did it was I marked my holes, then drilled them with a bit slightly smaller than the insert. I threaded the insert and ensured the way in straight, took them back out and installed them again coated in JB Weld. Once that dried I filed the inserts down flush to the forend then installed the rail with more JBWeld to hold everything together.

Seems to have worked ok.

Ohh I see. Makes sense... though I think that is still too handy for me haha. It looks great though!

That's Brilliant , I'm going to have to try that .

Too bad it's Restricted. There's no doubt though if it was Non-Restricted it'd be the best bush shotgun around.

Hadn't thought of that if I am limited to a 18.5" barrel on a semi-auto I'll definitely be staying with another pump...

G Mitchell, nice looking scatterguns, they turned out great. I'm headed out for my first solo hike of the season tomorrow morning at 3am. Going to a spot up a valley into the mountains for a few days.

Thank you, enjoy your hike. I'd like to get back into hiking and camping, now that we've got two capable woods guns maybe I can get the wife and kids into the wilderness with me. lol
