CDTSA - Milo Range CQB Clinic 29-30 April 2017 Debrief here...

Got it doo925. Prepare for a blizzard. ;)
Yup. Regardless, I'm bringing my raingear just in case. Better to have it and not use it than not have it when you need it. Same with the ammo count. I always bring 1.5 X's as much as is recommended. Probably won't need the extra ammo, but it's sure nice to know I have a reserve supply just in case.

Hello all!

Signed up for this course over the weekend!!

Very much looking forward to it!!

I have been doing some research, as well as dusting off the Dillion 550 to make some pistol reloads.

There are some test loads, all passed gauge, and are ready for testing:

Will continue to work on getting the rest of my gear together!!

I look forward to seeing you all there

regards and all the best

No disrespect intended AbH, but do all your primers on your reloads look like that with all the dents? What type of primers are you using?
I know they probaly work fine, but I would still be a bit concerned.

Madcow (crazy bovine?)

Thank ever so much for your concern!! Im using cci large pistol and a dillon 550.

Orriginally i was concerned and discussed it directly with Dillon. I even sent a picture.
They assured me it was fine and simply the nature of the 550 which is much less adjustable then the 650. I bought the 550 because i got a very good deal on it.

For what its worth I took those reloads to the range today
All 98 of them worked reliably and accutately!! shrug

If the appearance of my reloads offends you, my apologies.

They have however safely severed me for the last 20+ years

Regards

I think we are going to get a room in Vulcan, Sure hope it aint going to be nothing but mud. I've been meaning to ask the board about putting more gravel in the pistol lanes now that I think about it.

Okay, we have just finished the Garrison Petawawa CQB clinic. I have to share more observations with you:

* Nice reloads, but let's see how they work under stress... can you say, "Dillon?"
* lubricate your AR rifle
* for those with Non-restricted black rifles, keep an AR handy. I'm not flying with my DD Mark18 CQB rig, I'm flying with a carry-on
* for those of you with exotic brands of pistols, bring a back up Glock (or Sig)
* for those of you with calf skin holsters made of Rich Corinthian Leather, buy a kydex rig, they are cheaper and better
* for those of you with USGI M1 Carbines, especially carbines signed by General George Patton, buy an AR (and a Glock)
* for those of you who insist on bringing 10 round magazines (I might break another rib laughing, 1st aid kit needed) They are the kiss of death. Like saying, "Our goalie has a shut out..."
* LE Enfield and Garand shooters? I'm buying you an ice cream cone in Vulcan on Saturday night. I salute you!

Okay, jokes aside....

* folding chairs and tables are sweet
* event tents are sweeter
* coolers with diet pop for me are the sweetest... unless I need to bring my parka
* mag loaders sure help make things easy
* bring all your magazines including your spares and backups... you will see why. Too long for me to explain why
* If you got a second AR or a second pistol, bring them along.
* If you only have ONE pistol (ensure it's a Glock) ha ha ha ha it's an inside joke from Garrison Petawawa...

Sorry, I just could not resist:

Now I gotta see if the Glock dealers will sponsor me! ha ha ha ha ha It's all good. I've got one already. :p

Only a few more days and I'll be in Milo, AB!

It appears as if you're using a small primer seater for those .45 ACPs...

Starting the bag packing process for my stay (Home on the Range) literally on the Range... steps to the firing point!

Weather predictions are partly cloudy, some showers but 12 and 14 degrees on the weekend...

Hey Buckaroo... we are doing the chinese buffet in Vulcan like the last clinic (Sep 2016) are we? I figured we gotta give people the heads up of our rendezvous in Vulcan after a long day on the range! :p

Let's do this... Vulcan Chinese Buffet for the following food coma on Saturday night. And on Sunday evening, nice and low key, we can try our luck at the Milo restaurant. There, we can spread our money out among the local businesses...

We are gonna have fun!
