CDTSA - Milo Range CQB Clinic 29-30 April 2017 Debrief here...

Big thanks to EVERYONE as without everyone's cooperation and help this would not have been as fun as it was.
I liked this course as the drills were a little different than the stuff I come up with while shooting at Milo.I kinda flip flopped from trying to shoot accurately to going as fast as I could.
As for modified prone I like it for the accuracy but my old bones and beat up body don't like the ground :p

I hope to see some of the Non-Members show up for the matches.

"If you want to be great, be Grateful..." One of my beloved quotes I've taken shamelessly and recycled...

I have just had a great night's sleep back in my own bed and I have gathered my thoughts from the last 48 hours....

I got so many things to be thankful for:

* a fantastic pointman who shared all our waking moments dreaming/organizing/visualizing/ and now following up this epic weekend of 29-30 April 2017
* a most inclusive visionary of a CDTSA / Milo GC President who bent over backwards to facilitate this clinic spearheaded by Match Director Buckaroo
* a welcoming, on-point and focused community of shooters who came together and the gell'ed to make the 2012 transition a reality (back to the good old days) ;)
* a crew of safety Assistant RSOs like Guy/Alex who helped me maintain the high standards of safety expectations
* That super little girl at the Chinese Buffet in Vulcan for her help in making the Saturday Food Coma a reality, once again...
* Our 2 lady shooters who laughed at my crude/insensitive/often politically incorrect/tasteless/recycled / stale jokes; I was able to keep the firing line "light hearted"
* our most patient shooters who battled through all the operator sourced errors (not always rifle/pistol/magazine related); good of you to take ownership!!

* Dlian: thanks for bringing that helmet, sure is nice on the Modified Prone, eh?

* Our tolerant shooters who put up with my jokes because in my efforts to facilitate a light hearted learning environment some give and take is required, Thanks to you!
* CGNutz folks out there, you guys make this community just that; a great community, it's bigger than each of us!

* And to all my haters out there, I extend : Forgiveness, Love, Compassion, and Kindness.... Thanks to you, I will work even harder!

I ain't a gunfighter, or a sniper, or a paratrooper, or a gunsmith, but I am a Religion Teacher!

Most humbly yours,

Barney

PS: I do shoot an NEA.... No jams ever....

But honestly, buy a Glock (and I bought my own, I'm not using a sponsored Glock.... yet....)

And one of the best price point rifles is my beloved Armalite from Wolverine Supplies:

Now while we are speaking about CQB fun... we also discussed the position breakdown process of the rapid fire match. So your AR in .223 don't kick much. Try doing the match #3 with these rigs:

Yes, they are M14 rifles in the modified prone. This BC clinic was pretty epic also!

And always move beyond your comfort zone in life (it's a metaphor)

You will be surprised where life takes you!

Cheers,
Barney

My cheap Norinco and TP9SF didn't fail me as well; not a single hickup; I'm impressed with the results... Gave them a total clean-up last night, they are ready for the match...!
My cheap Norinco and Walther PPX were also flawless. However, I am sure my firearms were inferior to aakoksal's as the groups weren't nearly as tight.

Yeah, must be the firearms. That's it.

Okay, who was that kind shooter who hooked me up with this magazine decal motif? It's been getting some positive responses on FaceBook...

They really are a great looker!

Remind me who you are/were and we can launch an adventure for you with these sticker sets!

Cheers,

Figure 11 Targets - where to get some

Ladies and Gentlemen

As a follow up to the above, and as a heads up ................

I was working with Colin over at The The Shooting Edge, and as a result they have secured, and have for sale a limited quantity of the Figure 11 targets.

These are the real deal!! The are about $2.00 each, and they had about 100 count. I bought 5 as a start.

I am in now way connected with the TSE, other than being a member, and I am just trying to be helpful

My thoughts were that once we are done training with playing cards, we can train with the real deal.

regars and all the best

AbH

Merry Christmas for 2017. Guess what’s in store for you S Alberta shooters at the end of April 2018??

I’m back for April 28-29 , so mark that on your annual shooting calendars. As usual CDTSA members will get first crack at the registration process with non-members to follow. As in the past I really feel uncomfortable capping attendance because it’s all about learning journeys and I wanna keep my Alberta’s happy. Hey I am a university of Alberta grad from 1984....

Stay tuned and start hoarding ammo for this clinic!!

Cheers, Barney
