New AR and opinions on red dots

Bought the same one myself off Amazon last week ($245 CAD) . It's just my opinion but I don't see why a red dot needs to be so big ether. I mean it's not housing any magnifying optics and quite honesty when looking through it the same result is accomplished as my $17 Bushnell clone that's held zero after over 150 rounds on my SKS.

It is very tacti-cool which also score big points for my nerd side. It will look great when I do some rattle can magic on my AR too.

The red dot itself is hella crisp I will say. It's still a great buy for $245. I certainly would never put a cheap clone import optic on an AR so thats why I bought it.

DI Optical rv1. I bought it as a back up red dot. And I can't believe how good the quality is on it for the price they are. I will be buying another DI Optical product.

I have ran a strike fire on my xcr for the last four years.
Only issue I have had with it is accidentally bumping it into nvg mode.
Other than that I would recommend one especially since they improved them from the original which is what I have.
Recently upgraded my rifle bought a meprolight RDS just due to dial on side so I can quickly visualize whether it is in nvg mode or not.

Personal testimony on Vortex warranty, had a Sparc gen 1 malfunctioning, they replaced with gen 2 no questions asked.

Also has an older gen TRS, solid. Can't speak for newer ones.

Surplus EOTech (non returnable) are good deals if you can find them.

Aimpoints are always the nuke of red dots.

i only use aimpoint micros as red dots and acogs as fixed magnified optics

We're not all wealthy like you Mike!!!!!!!!

Aimpoint are excellent, but cost. I still rock my EoTech as I find the reticle uber-fast for competition and haven't had the POI shift which sometimes happen in temperature extremes. I think it was their dishonesty which turned people against them more than an actual issue...

I also like the SPARC AR. For the other 99% they provide close to Aimpoint performance for 1/3 to 1/4 the cost...

Actually aimpoints is the "cheapest" option to get professional grade well regarded sights, once you get into magnified optics the $$$ goes way up.

Di Optical is military grade. Made in South Korea. Only available at Wolverine supplies at the moment They are one of the world's largest machinegun sight manufacturer. They supply the US coast Guard. There sights start at $299 and are all night vision capable and built like a tank. 10,000 hour with a AA battery on half setting.

If one is buying a used EoTech beware of delamination, many people don't know about that condition but EoTech will repair it for $. Move the reticle around to see if there are blind spots. It is casued by the laser grating material layer separating.

I would love to give DI a try, saw some mentioning on MAC. Anyone got hands on experience?
