Ok guys,
Well she came in, UPS guy dropped it at the door with out me being home or getting a signature... Its ok though, got the email so I zipped home and grabbed it.
It was packaged very well from Nordic, not to mention shows up in a hard case inside the box. You also get some 2016 catalogs, Test target, owners manual CD and appropriately sized flat head and Allen key.
This rifle is alarmingly light weight and well balanced. It is as if there inst a barrel on it, the weight that it does have sits in close to the chest.
The adjustments are superb, you can adjust the cheek piece much lower or higher then you would ever need, so it truly will fit anyone or any optic. The butt stock piece is fully adjustable also. You can extend or shorten the length of pull to your desire/fit the shoulder pads hight can be moved up and down to fit your body, it can also be canted. So if you have a high cheek piece you can adjust the rifles shoulder piece so it isn't in your armpit, you can adjust it to your shoulder pocket for any type of position. It is the most adjustable but stock I've ever had. It moves in any direction you need it to. Makes it very comfortable and easy to get behind.
Now that I had got my grubby finger prints all over it, time to mount an optic. Instead of ordering a rail from Nordic I figured I would use a pair of CZ rings I had in the safe, since both are 11mm dove tail...
Well that didnt work out, so heads up to anyone who is going to buy one. Anschutz has a rounded 11mm dove tail, not a flat top like CZ. Luckily enough, the LGS had some weaver mounts specifically for anschutz rails! For about 8 bucks each... No problem! Done deal, grabbed the mounts and grabbed some tactical rings (low height) and back home I went!
SO same problem with mounting a bipod, you need the adapter... So order that when you order your rifle and save yourself some time. (The LGS did not have the adapter)
I decided to just put a Vortex Crossfire 2 6x24 50mm optic on top of it. With the low mounts I have about 1mm of clearance from the front objective lens and the barrel. Perfect right?! You want the optic as close to the barrel as possible! Yes, but my lens cover caps don't fit... So just a quick cut of them on the bottom and we will be snug as a bug again.
The trigger is superb by the way, no creep very light! I didnt ligten it up at all.. Figured the factory was mighty good enough.
800 g (Range of adjustment 550 – 950 g ) IE 1.76 from factory (adjustable from 1.21 to 2.09 lbs)
I also love how the mag has 2 positions. Half clicked in, so you can work bolt but not pick anything up, then all the way in so you can use it... Great for hunting.
So really just some minor inconveniences that I'm sure I could have avoided that I caused myself set up wise.
Key points, order adapters for bi-pod and a rail or rings ahead of time with the rifle. So you don't get the nice new rifle and then find out no LGS stock the parts you need... (I lucked out with the mounts)
RANGE TIME!
50 Yards
Conditions : Sunny, no clouds winds gusting from 12-25 MPH left right, back front.
Shooting from Front rest, rear bag... (front rest is actually a rear V shaped bag meant to be a rear sand bag...)
I forgot to grab different types of ammo, so I only had lapua Center X on me. (that will come, I'm going to try to get out again on Sunday)
I lay down 2 groups both come in right at .200 of an inch. Now im giddy with excitement. So i quickly make the needed adjustments to my optic. Then spend the next 190 rounds chasing groups.
It certainly is a tactical trainer and I cant wait to shoot it some more!
I think it was worth every penny, especially once I get a bi-pod on there to mitigate operator error and try out some other ammo as well.
If you are looking for a dedicated bench gun, get a longer heavier barrel.

1st group (5 shots in the .250 inch area)

This is when I would tighten my grip and hold the front of the rifle down (by the stock, nothing touching the barrel) and muscle it into staying put. 1 shot at each target...
