Like many others, I took the plunge and ordered the rifle that was on sale everywhere. Would anyone care to share their experience with this rifle?

Regrets? Lar15 opinions? Furniture?

Just grab some ammo if whatever weight(s) you want. Seriously, don't upgrade anything until you've had time to figure out what needs upgrading. Enjoy.

Good advice. Get used to it then decide from there. Not necessary to rush into anything.

Well I have seen it written, AR's are like Barbie dolls for guys. So if that says anything, lots of options to consider.

Optics, mags, slings, furniture yada yada yada.

Get a big, dirty crate of ammo. Shoot it a bunch. Find a reputable, professional trainer and take a course or two. If this is your first AR, courses are a great way to talk to the instructor and other students about what works and doesn't work for them, and probably get to go hands on with some of their modifications to see what you like.

I may not have many options for courses in my area but I'm hoping to try some three-gun.

I'll be sure to creep on the ammo forum to find something to put through it. Thanks.

I just picked one up too and it is my first AR, so far so good. Will be looking at optics in the near future I think, be nice to know what works for you guys?

There's a few recent threads in optics, check them out. Basically my understanding is, RDS for CQB, scope with higher than 3x for ranging it out past 300 yards. Many reticle designs and prices to choose from.

If you mean getting a deal on ammo on the EE??
Forget that. Plan on paying more then retail plus shipping on the EE.
Buy from a dealer and look for free shipping

Well I like getting ready for a new gun.Still waiting for transfer to come thru.Bought my dies, powder, primers, sierra bullets, gauge for my Dillon.Charging handle,Viper hand guard,3 pistol grips,7 different mags,Vortex Strikefire2,Strike Industries J-89 V2 type compensater, sling, dust cover, magazine type lock, wheeler AR block to work on it,cleaning stuff (brushes&patches),tactical gun case and I might have forgot a couple of things but I'm having a blast and haven't even got it yet.Keeping in mind I shoot IDPA on a regular basis and have been doing 3 gun by borrowing an AR and pretty much know what I like already. This gun is worse than an 1911 when comes to stuff :runaway:

This fore-grip should be about the right size. Cheap and effective.
