The JR Carbine Thread

Anyone experienced enough can tell me if this item: https://www.canadaammo.com/product/detail/slab-side-free-float-9-quad-rail-blk-variation will work with JRC as a replacement front rail? I have a JRC takedown model by the way. How does a forend like this align the top rail with the receiver's top rail? With the default barrel nut work right out of the box?

Can someone give me the specific Timney trigger model that is proven to work on the JRC 9mm? Is it the 3lb 667S (or ST), 4lb 668S (or ST)? Or is it the 2 stage one which is the 662S? I wanna give the JRC one more shot with an aftermarket trigger but not sure which one is proven to work with the JRC....

Can anyone recommend a good cleaning kit for this gun? I am also planning on getting a Glock 17 or 19 right after as well so a kit that could clean both?

Thanks

I use a cleaning kit with takedown cleaning rod so I can adjust the length between Glock and JRC. You can use bore snake as well. In fact the one that JRC sells seems pretty good.

If you are cleaning it thoroughly make sure to have an SAE hex key kit and a castle nut wrench. I use a bore snake for non thorough cleaning; I try to avoid cleaning from the muzzle, especially with a jointed cleaning rod. The joints in a cleaning rod will wreck the muzzle if you feed it muzzle to chamber unless you use a really good one. IF you are going to clean from the muzzle, use a really good one piece rod (no aluminum) with a brass bore guide. That is the way I clean a lever I own, but I do it very sparingly (most use the bore snake).

Hey guys,

Been loving my JRC 9mm since I got it. Really fun gun.

I wanted to trick it out a little more by adding a muzzle device, either fake can (over barrel kind) or a muzzle break, but I can't seem to find any other ones available than the standard ones from the JRC website (A2/A2 breacher).

Does anyone have any leads as to where I might find some 9mm breaks for sale?

Thanks!

I thought the fake can would look cool, but mine is not threaded (old one) and I set it up to be a break down, so the fake can would be in the way. I was looking at one point for one, but all the places in Canada were sold out and not had them in stock for some time.

I bought the breacher one from JRC but kinda regretting as it is killing my rifle bag... I was thinking if it is possible to buy a Tandemkross 10/22 comp and drill the hole bigger since the threading size fits (but shorter though).

Picked up yesterday. Just wanted to get the 870 for my sisters graduation gift but ended up with this as well. Gonna order a barrel shroud from kineti tech and maybe a new stock/grip eventually !

for muzzle devices these guys are great at TNA: https://truenortharms.com/collections/muzzle-devices

they even added a new service because I asked if they could drill out a .223 flash hider to fit 9mm, and they did it for a great price! (I don't have access or trust myself to drill a hole to make a muzzle device safe enough to shoot out of)

Check them out, they have a great selection too, and great prices and service. Even got a new keymod handguard for my JRC from them. Fits great.

@jona710 - I dig the m4 style carry handle and sights you have on that, those came with the gun??
