Chiappa Little Badger Mod Project - Holy Moley....

If I get out this weekend I'll take some pics. Mine is .22, and at 25 yards using a splatter target, every shot was touching each other and the bullseye. Surprising accuracy. However, in low light, and over 25 yards, it became more of a guessing game for me. I want to keep it really simple and packable for now, so I'll probably stick with the sights on it. I've got many other .22's that have good scopes and stuff.

I'm thinking that most people won't be disappointed with 25 yard accuracy.

That's a 12MOA group.

Hard to judge a 40 round group on a 4 inch steel target 12 MOA would be worst case estimation for sure.... my lil badger smokes golf balls easily off hand at 25 yards with the plastic peep and a bit of white paint on the front sight blade. I think I will thin down the front sight a bit and re paint it for a finer sight picture as the gun is definitely accurate.

Just read all of this and thought id post up my Badger. Got it in the mail 2 weeks ago and couldn't be happier.

What makes mine different than all the others? Its a .17hmr

accuracy out to 50 yards is crazy impressive. I hate iron sights but these ones just work.

30 yards:
The bottom 2 shots were the first 2 I had ever taken with the gun. Made a tiny rear sight adjustment and put 5... yes thats 5 rounds... into the centre.

50 Yards:
This is 10 rounds. The upper left of centre is 2 rounds in the same hole. At 50 yards with open sights... this is WAY better than I've ever shot before.

The .17hmr version has room for 12 rounds in the holder on the stock. Which is pretty good IMO.

Plans to mount a knife inside the wire stock and a 1-4 optic of some sort. I don't see anything else as necessary with this gun. The .17 hmr version cost more than the .22lr or WMR versions but was worth it IMO as I really like the 17hmr round and it offers a lot of performance in this type of gun.

Nice shooting. I like the accuracy of my 22mag as well. These guns are cheap enough to own all three calibers. They should just sell the extra barrels. It would cut the cost ay least in half.

I can't wait to get one of these... they're so cheap that even if the novelty wears off you'll have long since gotten your money's worth out of them in giddy entertainment.

I kept mine fairly simple. I added a Bushnell red dot and mounted an ESEE Izula on the stock.
I found a pouch that would slip onto the knife handle that has a few survival items, some extra ammo and spare batteries for the red dot.
I just need to get a new thread protector and I should be done. Although I've been thinking about replacing the side and bottom rails with some black canvas micarta.

Best little pack/survival rifle I've ever owned and fits perfectly in the hydration pocket of my backpack. Perfect for getting a few grouse or rabbits of opportunity while big game hunting.

Super nice. How's the sight picture without the riser on your RDS?
