Whats up with the seating depth variation in 9mm?

I've seen many people complain online about this, and it appears to be common when using dillon dies. 9mm is naturally a tapered cartridge, so some coke bottle effect is going to be a common thing. As long as it chambers and functions normally, appearence is not a huge deal.

You could be right, I only have a single stage press. It just stood out as odd to me for sure. Would that not shorten the brass??

My advice would be to switch to at least a .40S&W for shooting major. Your gun ain't gonna be worth sh!t after a year of loading to major.

That 1.157 brass looks terrible.

That's normal for the Dillon sizing die and helps prevent bullet setback. I love my wasp-waisted ammo!

No because if anything, it appears to slightly over size the case. None of the dies can drastically affect the length of the case.
