Robarms XCR FAQ post

About to buy one of these as a varmint blaster (gophers, coyotes) but can't get over the negative comments about the accuracy. Looking at 200-300 yards max range on it and plan on putting a 1-6x or 1-8x scope on it. Is that too much to ask out of this rifle or should I be looking at something else?

I'm a proponent of the XCR, I love mine and would buy it again.
I also know the limitation of the rifle. It is not a 300yd gopher gun.

You should be looking at something else.

The 300 yd would be for coyotes, don't know if it's even be fun shooting as a gopher at 300.

Ive always had an itch for an XCR and recently the XCR-L competition variant caught my eye (considering getting into 3 gun)

Are these more accurate than the regular XCRs? Or are they simply a regular XCR with a longer hand guard?

I hunt with my XCR, my personal limit is 240yd. That's based on energy and velocity. (7.62x39)
Reaching out to 300 brings accuracy into question. (Speaking only of my gun and my shooting)

With energy, velocity, and accuracy, being questionable, I'll switch guns.

Coyotes deserve a one shot kill, same as deer, IMO.
I think there's better guns for the task.

The latter, to keep the barrel non-restricted.

Great gun for 3 gun for sure.

Any of you guys try shooting groups with the pencil barrel when its super hot? My groups opened up so hard it was hardly on paper and now im questioning if my scope is effed lol.

Going to need to test it out again next weekend to confirm what the heck is going on.

Get a 6.5 Grendel barrel, but you may have to roll your own ammo =)

There are a number of sponsors that have them in stock I think, just checking now and Wolverine Supplies and Tenda have what you're looking for now.

Ya im actually waiting on a quote from wolverine for one with the fast3 installed. if its not full rifle price + full stock price ill go for it, but if it is, then ill wait for a used one. I decided the regular sock wont work for me because my cheek misses the rest when extended. ive decided it int worth buying new if i have to spend another 200+$ on the stock set up.

The stock is going for 399 on it's own, not worth it to me. If I find that I really really need to swap it out, I'll most likely go with an AR adapter and choice of stock.

A part of my brain still agonizes over the heavy vs light profile barrel decision.

I dont yet have one, but i trust the people with good experiences. My advice is, if you plan on walking/hiking at all with it, go light and dont look back. i really doubt youll notice much accuracy difference, but then again...im just a wide eyed dreamer at this point...

Im hoping that if i special order one straight from the factory with the fast3 already installed, that it wont be the full 400 but closer to 100-150 extra (waiting on word from wolverine). Which i think is worth it. if not, then ill go used and save a 100$ by getting an ar stock and adapter as well as gst. BUT IM STILL INTERESTED IN USED OFFERSSSS!
