So what magazines do they use ?
And again no... because the AR15 is a scaled down original design AR10, which is what the AR102 is.
If you scale down an AR10 to 556, you get an AR15.
This really isn't difficult.
I'll wait for the Gen 2![]()
Isn't it?
Because I disagree. If I were to scale down an AR102 I would attempt to use as many of the same parts as possible or simply scale them down. That isn't what happened. The basic principle remained but nothing, not even a gas tube is interchangeable. The trigger mech is completely different, cocking handle, handguard, front sight, pistol grip, stock etc....
ETA: when they made the SR25 they obviously had to scale up the receiver, bolt carrier , barrel and such but they still attempted to use as many "scaled down" parts as possible. I've heard as high as 60% of the parts are interchangeable.
I'm very disappointed that the price got jacked up by $200 at the last minute.
There is always the $3500.00 alternative........![]()
I'm beyond happy that NEA got it done. I'm very disappointed that the price got jacked up by $200 at the last minute.

Almost as classy as all the haters on here who constantly slam NEA......
I have a sneaking suspicion the "haters" probably don't speak to their customers that way, or unilaterally call all members of a forum "douchebags" on their public profile.
No it didn't. I've always said it would be around there. NEA thought around $1500 at the beginning of the project but some changes were made and we ended up at $1699. I've been telling this to anyone that asked for ages.
Thank you!!!I love CGN. It has allowed me to learn a huge amount of information about firearms. There are so many fabulous people sharing their knowledge with know nothings like me. I salute all of you, and should do so more oftenThank you!!!
And then there are the dealers. Sometimes I wonder if purgatory would be a better description for those that supply our hopes and dreams. In my humble opinion, trying to be a dealer in Canada is akin to being a masochist : ) And I say that in the true spirit it is implied i.e. I cannot think of a more difficult business to operate, much less make a living in
Unfortunately, some CGN'ers do on occasion reveal that side of human nature that expects possibilities as certainties, particularly when that certainty is to their advantage
It begs the question as to whether Ryan, or any other dealer for that matter would be so publicly excoriated if the price was lower than originally, many many many moons ago, projected?
The "funny" thing is, I still have a hard time believing this whole story to be true!
I can actually buy a non-restricted 102 for 1700 bucks? Are you f'ing serious? LOL!!!
My whole impression of NEA (for what it's worth my impression is they have had troubles but totally stand behind their product) is immeasurably higher than before. Well done NEA! Well done too Ryan. Not easy living in the middleTo those that risk, enjoy the rewards that come.
