S&W M&P 15 Sport II - Convince non-AR owners to take the plunge with new price drop?

Dealers are expecting more stock in ~30 days or so. Hopefully some additional sale incentives beyond $699 and the first batch and push of buyers. Once demand slows down, price should continue to drop.

The age old question of what will break first... supply... or demand? I can't see them going below $650 bc they are flying off the shelves at $700.

I expect overall we should, I hope, start seeing a slightly lower price on firearms and ammo in general, probably some other interesting deals will arise, fingers crossed... but I doubt you will ever see this particular rifle below $650, nor will it ever go back up to $1000... well at least until the election.

FrontierFirearms has stated the m&p rifles were sold below cost by Smith&Wesson to recoup losses from over production and that u.s. production will be scaled back and prices will soon return to normal, but K-roc, I hope you're right and the trend continues.

I guess it would be too much to hope for non ar rifles to have lowered prices as well.

Fingers crossed here as well.

I was just in Washington the other day and one of the stores I stopped at had the M&P for $649.99 US, I figured the $699.99CDN I paid was pretty good. For anyone who's interested, I've put about 150 rnds thru mine with 5 different mags with no issues. Not much of a test, but positive results.

I'm at the 500+ rounds mark myself. Just wish I could take it to the bush like the rest of my rifles. Love the rifle, hate the restrictions.

Sadly , that is the problem . A nice rifle ; but limited to range use only . It certainly gets old fast when the only thing you can do with a rifle is shoot paper and steel .

That's precisely where the shooting sports come in. Shooting ever-changing stages against other people never gets old.

I WAS going to buy, BUT , with all this talk of Ralphie , Justine and the other libtard pottsies and a new LGR I foresee a whole new round of reclassification of some of our more popular platforms.
Just can't take a chance of making a bad investment with my limited funds.

The Liberal govt. certainly has some more gun control regulations simmering on the back burner . I suspect we will see lots more gun control when the govt. adopts the UN marking scheme . They can only track the restricted firearms as they have no record of the NR guns .

Yep. Doesn't get much better than an AR for 3 gun. Especially for the cost. I was going to shoot my benelli mr1, but this Smith is lighter, was way cheaper, and is more than accurate enough. More aftermarket goodies, etc. I'll shoot the benelli out camping, and shoot the AR at the range :)

Same here. Like the MR1 but something about the M&P15 just feels good.

That's the point. You have to do it, more of them in the system makes them more difficult to legislate away.

well......i did it as well. this will be my first AR. i couldn't say no to the price and all good reviews about it. now the waiting game. :)

I'm in no rush. I didn't make it past the wait list for a gun club this year and membership is now closed. I can't even shoot the thing until next year.

Ontario is like a third world country for gun owners. That just sucks!

In BC, you can get the AR transferred in a day, registration in a week and a membership at Silvercore with a credit card.
