** Your NEA102 build **

I'm going to wait and see if yours breaks/sucks before getting one.

^ this guy understands me. LoL. I really like where DILLIGAF is going with his proposed set up & opinions. Im just glad there was 72 other people with credit cards waiting that stopped me from being said beta tester. This gun I cannot resist.... But I sure can wait a year or two.

I think this is the first black rifle I didnt jump on the bandwagon to get...lol... After the big disappointment the APC556 was, I decided to wait from now on :)

Wow really your disappointed? How so? That looked like one slick rig I couldn't afford.

Once I get mine, I got a S&B 3-20 to put on it with a surefire warcomp, atlas bipod.... then we will see if this thing is worth keeping...

For Ammo, I had good luck with hornady steel case. Hopefully I can find some mags before she comes in.

waiting on specifications to be posted, that will dictate if I purchase or not.

If no light profile barrel will be available, I will be swapping out the barrel to as light as possible for hunting, would like to get as close to the 7lb bare weight with mag as possible.

The MH is about a pound too heavy for my liking

So the 102 weighs in at 9.6lbs with the medium profile barrel. I don't think it will be possible to get it down to around the 7lb mark.

So, with an optic, it is going over 10 pounds?
I don't think a nitrided barrel could be turned down, so a new barrel would have to be installed to achieve any significant weight loss.

It's hard to say what I'm gonna do to it, without having it in hand but I bought it to use as a hunting rifle. I'm thinking a low-mid power compact scope, probably with a ballistic drop type reticle and depending on what's screwed onto the end of the barrel, maybe just a threaded protector to replace the flash hider/break. I know, boring!

Maybe a proof research barrel? Made a huge difference on my modern Hunter.

Proof barrel is no lighter according to atrs than the light profile barrel that is also offered as an option for the MH. This is according to my correspondence with them at time of order.

Proof barrel was not worth the extra cost for no weight savings
