The gun isn't made by Suhl. Suhl is the town it was made in. Suhl is also the traditional centre of German gun making and the location of the primary proof house in Germany. It's in what was East Germany and the fact that it was under Communist/Soviet control from the war until re-unification goes a long way to explaining the massive "re-organization" of the Suhl based gun trade that happened after WWII.

So, who is officially a manufacturer-I can do very close pictures of stamps, if needed, if there is help finding actual "company" if such existed under DDR rule
well I understand that. But I bought it exactly like that from TradeEx: I bought it as "Suhl Thalmann"I suppose it could be a Thalmann. But to be clear, having "Suhl" on the gun is equivalent to having "Birmingham", "London" or "Philadelphia" (That's a shout out for Fox fans) on a gun.
Please post clear pics of all stamps....barrel flats, ahead of the flats, any markings on top rib and any markings on the action flats.
