I'll take neither for $500 Alex...I am currently torn between choosing the T97 and Mini-14 for next gun. To be honest, if Mini-14 takes AR Mag (especially LAR) there will not even be any consideration needed at all.
So how many XCRs do you own?I'm so far down the XCR rabbit hole there is no going back. On the other hand I wouldn't reject any future NR options in the pipeline, but I do think the XCR is the best current NR black rifle for me.

Out of the two I'd be inclined to get the CZ-58 in 5.56mm. I'd still go for a Tavor over the X95 or CZ, though.Sigh... everyone is telling me that. May be I should get a SKS or cz-58 instead. The main thing is that I have 223 and some 556 stocked up I don't wanna go into a diff caliber just because of a new gun. Same reason I have no plan to get a 45 or 40sw pistol. Mini14 or T97 fits the ammo requirement. I am not sure about getting a X95... which I can buy 3X the min14 or T97.

Swiss Arms is built like a Rolex. Who cares if it takes AR mags or not? It doesn't take Glock mags either. I see that Canada Ammo sells Dominion mags for a half-decent price. Stock up. Mini 14 is good for what it is. Nice that you can get one in stainless steel. VZ58 is an excellent design. Actually had one of those and it shot extremely well. I also had a Benelli that was crazy accurate, but as someone else mentioned, some Martian designed the ergos. A new XCR may be the way to go. I had one in .308 and it shot quite well - not well enough to justify the ridiculous price tag; but the ergos were the best of any gun I have tried. A new XCR in 5.56 - especially that competition model may have the bases covered.

Why the Tavor over X95. Just asking

XCR - have many failures and when put to the test- fail
