My buddy asked me to start loading some 243 rounds for him stcktly for yotes. I have never had/ loaded 243 so I'm coming here for some advice. He wants something he can launch 400-500 yards at the max. He has a bean field behind him that is around 800yrds. On hand I have H4831SC, BL-C2 and RL22. I was thinking a V-max 80gr or possible even an A-max. What do You guys suggest?

Lapua brass, only.

What is the twist? @ 4 > 500 you want a bullet with best BC and least wind drift.

Use Enduron or a powder that is insensitive to temperature variations.

Barrel looks like a 1/9 twist, I think I read the 105 A-max had a BC of around .5 but the 105's are moving a lot slower then the 80's.

He has 60 pcs of once fire rem brass so we will be using that.

You are pushing your luck using the 105 a-max in a 1/9 twist barrel. Best suited for 1/8 or faster. Try using the 87 grain v-max in that 1/9 barrel. If only shooting up to 500 yards you will thank me later.

Thanks, appropriate that. I imagine I can get those 87gr moving pretty quick. I'm not home with my books right now but I thought I saw that you can get the 80's up to 3400fps.

70 grn Nosler Ballistic tip and within a grain of max, give or take, with 4350, 4895, XBR8208 does the trick with me and it is pretty much dead nuts to 250yds. Don't have much occasion to get out further but it has worked to 400 and the bullet is up to the task at distance.

I run 70gr blitzkings. At 3340 fps. Longest one shot kill to date is 730 yds. Lots of yotes killed in the 300-500 yd range

The a max is a target bullet. It's unpredictable at best. My buddy shot a coyote at 40 yards or so broadside with a 223. It spun biting at its self and he shot it again. It took off on the run and I finished it my a vmax that caught the front shoulder as it was running. The vmax almost took off the leg and blew the ribs apart
Buddies a max one splattered on the ribs not penetrating the other drilled a straight hole thru

In larger calibers it is used as a long range deer bullet but I have no experience with that.
Hornady states it is not a hunting bullet

According to Hodgon reload data H414 will push the 65gr v-max (max load) to 3700 fps and the 70gr to 3500fps. I have a lbs of H414 as well and that looks like a deadly speed so might have to work up one of those.

Mostly just wants them gone, he has them running around his house at night and has 4 kids and a bunch of chickens. But that said he for like to hang pelts in his shop.

Then stay away from the deer and target bullets, use something specifically designed for trashing varmints like the Vmax.
