I am impressed at how shinny and clean you got it. What did you do to polish it so well? I would love to get metal that clean for a hot blue.
Chrome plating will be to to thick. I have refinished 1000+ 870,s in thr last 25 years with evey thing you can think of from pain to park to nickle.
Thr barrle hood with not fit into the recover if u plate it. Also dame with thr mag tube threads and thr forend metal threads.
If u want shinny go electroless nickle. As u can control the thinknees easier
Maybe too shiny. A brushed stainless steel look is more my taste, but I like the aqua blue shot shells.
A friend had a pistol chrome plated and the pieces didn't fit back together again. :-(
