BCL 102 wear marks

Driller your bottom pic is the exact wear as mine, even the other mark in the recessed area. I'll have to check some other rifles (AR) and see if they show this mark. I also spun the cam pin around so I'll see if the other side rubs.
Thanks for the replies.

My KAC SR15 has it too. Just normal break-in guys.

Yep pretty normal to see that mark left by the cam pin on that recess on AR15s so im guessing no different for this rifle . Guess thats why you can get the cam pins with a roller like the POF rifles .

I am just thinking that the wear we are seeing from the pin on the 102 is maybe the cause of the initial feed issues until there have been a number of rounds fired then they seem to lessen. I am thinking the cam pin touching is causing a slowing of the bolt carrier initially till it wears in then runs more smoothly and then feeding and cycling becomes better. Just an idea. I could be wrong.

That's exactly what I was thinking

I agree, in fact it was about the same time that I started noticing the metal shavings that my reliability issues went away. Knock on wood!

Okay, I had a chance to look closer at my rifle... (No baby sleeping on me this morning, chuckle.)

Here is the cam pin wear on the inside of my upper receiver.

Google it, this is not unusual & seen on various brands in this type of platform.

Sounds exactly like the Modern Hunter issues, which was narrowed down to out of spec cam pins...ie too long or something, there is a thread on it somewhere.

So I had a look at two AR 15's, one showed minor wear (CC MRR) the other showed no wear(MP15). Apparently it's common enough not to get too worried. I'm also quite sure this was causing my reliability issues at the start. During the first 100 rounds I had 10 malfunctions, the last 150 I have had 0.
Looking at the AR10 manual CR5 provided, it looks like the pin coming straight out is normal on these as well.
