Here's one that came home with me lately.

for sure ... a carbine synthetic stock in 35 whelen would be very useful over here ...

few years ago before coming to Canada i was given that advice and i should have listened lol ...

You could purchase a 7600 rifle in .35 Whelen and have the barrel cut and recrowned and then add aftermarket synthetic stocks if you wanted a carbine. I guess the trick is finding the rifle. Probably easier than finding one of the factory carbines.(Wish I had kept mine)

Here's my very run-of-the-mill Remington 760... with one special thing. I'm not sure who did the rebarrel, but it's 22" to the front of the trunion. I'd love to replace the stocks with something with a slightly higher comb.

The 7600 stocks with the higher comb suck cuz you can't use the open sights unless you have no cheek bones ...

I did. It came to me as a worn out, basket weave .30-06..

Well , all I can say is , good job . I had it at the range last Saturday trying out some 210 Nosler Partitions . I managed 3 shots in about 1 1/4 inches at one hundred . It's coming out for Moose and Elk in October . This rifle is rapidly becoming a favorite . Hopefully , I'll have some pics of it tastefully posed next to a nice animal to post next month .

Never really got into the pump rifle idea but since I'm a big Rem. 870 fan and you guys are reporting such great accuracy it's all starting to make sense.

Being more meat & potatoes would just go .308 carbine 7600.

The 7600 Police model looks very handy in 16.5", gotta be ear punishing though but I'm used to shorter barrel bolts so can't be that much worse.

Couple questions if you gentleman don't mind from a non-760/7600 club member so I can possibly join.

- What's the feeling on the Wilson GRS on the Police model ? I have em on a couple 870's so quite used to them, but thinking they might be a little less accurate in a rifle application, albeit quick to get on target ??

- given the trigger looks to be about an 870 trigger, do these accept the Timney 870 trigger fix ? (haven't looked at an internal picture yet)

- Earlier in this thread a poster mentioned this about dust-guard and not so sure I'd be crazy about it: Thoughts ?

"Just looked at a 7600 Police (.308)... it had the rattle in the forend, and a plastic dustguard that slides with the bolt. I can't imagine the police wanting this version with the 4 round mag and not so fast/positive mag swap that would go with it... "

Thanks.
