Not in standard it's not. Scoring minor in STD div is too much of a handicap. Doing so in Classic however is viable because of the 2 extra rounds allowed for minor.
I have only used 165 in 4 minor and it's very soft shooting. I have not tried other grains.
Hi cereal83, how's the slide movement compared to 9mm? a friend of mine said his try failed as his slide moved a little slow, but may be due to gun mod issues as he didn't spend enough time tweaking it.
was your experience good enough to use it in matches to have an edge over 9mm minor?
great! thanks guys. looks like it's indeed worth a try. I am not too concern about the cost difference as once getting into IPSC, that boat has sailed already. Lol...
I am going to try all the way to 200gr with different recoil spring weights.
If you actually get a 40 cal 200 gr minor load (130PF) to work consistently, please share - I tried 6 different powders and 3 different primers and could never get consistent detonation, and therefore miserable groups.great! thanks guys. looks like it's indeed worth a try. There's so little powder in the space - it would never fully burn.
After an internet search, I didn't find anything out there that conflicted with my experience.
