32 Rimfire Ammo Available?

No but many threads on how to make reloadable cases. Or you can buy some from HC Collections. I'll find some links later and put them up. Probably the best thread on the subject is actually on CastBoolits. Many ways to skin this cat but just as many cautions. It is a lot of fun to figure it out though.

Revolver or rifle?

Edit - Found some links:

But THE best reading on the subject (IMHO) is on CastBoolits > Rimfire Area > Page 6 (today) "reloadable rimfire brass". There are a couple of truly dedicated contributors to that thread who did some serious work and documented it. WELL worth the read.

I've tried about everything posted. I'm lucky enough to have a lathe which makes life really easy, since my revolver won't catch a centered .22 blank and the .27 cals I found were too inconsistent to be fun. But you certainly can get started with a drill press - or buy the cases from HC or Dixie. I have some posts with pictures in the castboolit thread.

Jethunter here on CGN sells the proper heeled bullets. Good price, good quality. Or you can also use .32 caliber muzzleloader round balls.

You have two choices when buying an antique handgun, one is poney up for a quality piece with readily available reloading components=cheap ammo or buy a cheap 38 or 32 rimfire and pay a premium for the ammo either way its an expensive hobby. I have my 44 Russian reloads coming in around 20 cents per round. The rare 32 and 38 rimfire ammo if you can find it goes for 3-5 dollars a round. Add shippingand price goes higher. You can buy from a gun show dealer who is fully aware of what he has but these are not reloadable cases and are anemic at best but the problem is your gun is useless if you cant buy ammo. Best suggestion is get rid of the 32 or 38 rf and save your nickels and hold off until you can buy an antique in a readily available ammo unless the challenge IS your hobby

Yup the thrill of the chase here. If you aren't looking for a project then rjf1963 is quite right. Once you get things dialed in though they do work well and it is fun.
