BCL 102 chipped extractor, Norinco ammo

Has anyone with a BCL 102 who has fired any Norinco 7.62 has had a good look at their extractor? I looked at mine the other day after getting back from the range. I noticed at the centre part of the extractor lip it was chipped.

Or is just me with my luck with this rifle. My apologies in advance for the poor IPhone pictures.

Someone else on the forum posted a photo of a Norinco copper washed casing they had fired through their BCL102 with the rim ripped off...

I fired 20 rounds of it through my BCL102, the first shot fed/fired/extracted/ejected, but the rifle failed to feed the 2nd round properly & it hung up on the way into the chamber. The other 19 worked flawlessly.

I discontinued use of the Norinco because I did not want to damage the extractor on my rifle after the other member posted the rim ripped off...

Seems your experience serves to confirm my decision.

BCL should be able to provide you with a replacement.

Unless the imaginary owners manual states that the use of steel case ammo voids the warranty like most firearms manuals state.
 
The issue is steel case surplus ammo and a match chambers don't mix especially with a AR10 type rifle , a rifle like this should have a normal chrome lined AR10 barrel with a nice slick generous chamber . The M&P10 will chew through any ammo out there and is more than accurate enough . A match barrel in a AR10 is bad unless you shoot matches with match ammo all the time lol that's probably only 5% of BCL102 owners at best . Most people just wana ring steel within 300y with cheap ammo.

This. Norc 308 does not like tight chamber. The extraction in this case is just too much for the extractor. Old NEA quality is back.

I agree with what boss351cleveland is saying 100% but isn’t it kind of funny that NEA/bcl puts out a rifle with a “match chamber” and people say things like “Old NEA quality is back”. If the chambers were sloppy and loose, what would people say about NEA quality?

One thing is for sure, it will take more than a name change for bcl to shake the NEA specter on CGN.
 
To be fair, NEA did say that the gun would run anything 7.62.

But if it's a consequence of dealing with a high quality barrel, I do t really care if ####e ammo doesn't work. I'll feed my steel case to the 305

I didn't order a 102 to hit manhole covers at 200. I expect more of an $1800 rifle

I didn't realize that this was a "MATCH" chamber. Perhaps I should refine my ammo choices in this rifle.
 
I don’t understand why there is so much griping about tight tolerance chamber and leade. This is normally desirable.

I would suggest that if burning mad ammo in crappy steel cases is your goal, a reamed and polished chamber may help those that must. ;)

The part of it that confuses me is that they put a tight "match" chamber in a cheap barrel that flings bullets all over as it warms up.
If the chamber was a standard AR-10 service rifle chamber that would eat anything they would have done everyone a favor and the rifle would be a lot more reliable. The difference in accuracy between these tight "match" chambers and a regular chamber would hardly be noticeable to 98% of shooters. It's not like a tight chamber is going to change it from a 4 moa rifle to a 0.75 moa rifle.
My DPMS AR-10 with standard chamber and stainless barrel would shoot sub moa with a few different loads. It would also eat any ammo I fed it, IMHO these "match" chambers are the worst thing NEA/BCL and ATRS did to both rifles, the loss of reliable function does not make up for the negligible increase in accuracy.

Because these do not have a match grade barrel and it causes the rifle to be less reliable with different ammo. Tight chambers are for bolt guns not semi auto "battle rifle" type firearms.
Medium contour with fluting and a tight chamber does not magically make a barrel match grade.

Mine doesn't like crappy Norc ammo either.... But I'm sure not complaining as it shoots unbelievably well with good ammo. Maybe not a match quality barrel in some people's eyes, but mine shoots better than I do, and consistently puts several rounds in the same hole.

You must have one of the unicorn rifles unless you have a 4 inch hole you're shooting into. So far I haven't seen a picture of a target showing better than 2 moa consistently. Even Jerry shooting two different 102's with handloads developed for each rifle hasn't shown better than 1.5 moa and even he says that the barrels starts throwing them all over the place as they heat up. If you can keep the barrel in it's temperature sweet spot there is a lot of potential to see some impressive groups but we buy semi autos to shoot multiple rounds not one round every 3-5 minutes like a bolt action in order to keep the groups small.
I'm not saying it's a bad thing for them to shoot groups 2-4 moa, it's totally acceptable for the type of rifle it is with a rack grade barrel. I do wish they would dump the "match" chamber in favor of reliable function with any x51 or 308 ammo you feed them.
Going by everything I've read so far these rifles need two things to be great rifles, a new trigger and a new barrel. This all hinges on NEA/BCL getting their consistency up so everyone gets a good rifle instead of all the ones so far that need new gas rings right from new along with the guy that needed a new bolt for his new rifle.
Considering the reputation NEA should be trying to get away from and the fresh start they could have as BCL I would have thought they would have at least made sure the first batch were all perfect.
