Ummm what? LOL. Just like a lot of people decided not to preorder because of their “lowest” price and missed out.
I missed out cause I thought the pre-order was going to be open for 2 to 3 weeks, not the 3 days it turned out to be

I think Canada Ammo is watching this discussion... And they are looking at a much larger order with a lower cost per unit..
So this preorder price might be the most expensive in Canada once everything shakes out..
That's what I think....flame on..![]()

I would not be surprised if Canada Ammo isn't getting any.
That turned out to be a crock of sh!te.
Which I guess, according to this thread, is the new definition of integrity.
Grease o'plenty it seems. Spread it like Parkay.![]()
So you dislike Wanstalls and will not be buying anything from them ever again??
I would not be surprised if Canada Ammo isn't getting any.
Nope, but one possible definition of integrity is for a company to admit a mistake and take a financial hit in fulfilling mistakenly under-priced orders so as not to disappoint its' trusting customers.
Entirely reasonable.
Time to give the completely unwarranted M+M bashing a rest. It is getting old, fast. Wanstall's manned up and mea-culpa'd that the mistake in pricing was theirs alone. M+M has stated on their FB page that they were blindsided by the RCMP announcement and the immediate Wanstall's pre-order. When the disconnect in pricing was identified, Wanstalls immediately terminated the pre-sale (as is their right to do at any time) in order to limit their financial exposure should they choose to honour the existing pre-orders. To their credit, Wanstalls did honour the pre-orders that they received. M+M is now working on sorting out dealer and MSRP pricing, distributorship, logistics, production schedules, etc, etc specific to the newly-opened Canadian market and have announced that they will provide a balanced MSRP ASAP.
So M+M had no idea this whole process was underway? What did they think a Canadian retailer bought 1 rifle for? Wasn't Wanstalls working hard behind the scenes?
What in the above version of events (if Wanstalls and M+M are to be believed), is deserving of continued wrath against the company that at the end of the day, is trying to bring their cool new NR rifle to the Canadian market? Similarly, why be angry with Wanstalls for putting an early end to a money-losing proposition? Wouldn't any one of us do the same in their shoes?!?
No problem, the idea of retail is to make money. No issues with that.
As for Canada Ammo, it would seem that they are now biding their time waiting to see what M+M comes up with. If M+M invoke a MAP, Canada Ammo will not be able to offer the lowest price in the industry without risking their supply. They can always offer free shipping or similar incentives (eg. free mags) to sweeten the pot for potential buyers, but the price would be fixed. In any case, it would seem that M+M are in no way beholden to Canada Ammo for having submitted a test sample. Clearly CanAm had no exclusive, formal agreement with M+M or they wouldn't have gone silent like they have. All bets are likely off that CanAm will obtain the distributorship that they obviously thought was a "done deal" in their favour. Sucks to be them, but hopefully they will overcome their disappointment by selling many fairly-price M10X rifles as either the Canadian Distributor or as a retailer.
Don't really care about the Canada ammo angle. But they obviously had at least some interaction, since they bought a rifle
P.S. The President of M&M Industries has some interesting observations in the comments on their FB page concerning the likely distributor mark-up on the T81 rifles coming out of China. According to Mr. Meier, at a manufacturer's wholesale price of $200 USD there is room for a 400% mark-up to arrive at a dealer price of $800 USD / $1000 CAD. Yet nobody is crucifying TI for raking in the profits, are they? Why the double standard vilifying M+M for wanting to turn a reasonable profit for their investors? Just some food for thought....assuming we can still think despite all the outrage....
Lol, even after TSE pulled their trick with the SA rifles people kept shopping there. No matter how mad people say they are chances are good that if Wanstalls put crates of x39 on sale everyone would forget how mad they are and order three crates.
Until we actually hear something from Wanstalls or Canada Ammo about what the actual retail price is going to be we're all just guessing. People may be getting upset for nothing. For all we know the regular price will be the same as the pre-sale price or even less. I'm pretty sure no one needs to worry about Wanstalls losing money. They were pricing based on making money right from the start, they won't be paying over $1400 for these rifles. They may not make as much as they planed but if they were going to lose money on all the pre-orders they would simply refund your money and apologize.
Hopefully this week we get some news so we can all either pull out our credit cards or those that don't like the price can move on to the next world changing rifle that's coming to Canada as NR.
Wow. Lots of whining in this thread. This must be the social media generation coming out. Do you all stomp your feet and make a big scene in real life when you don't get your way?
Whatever the price is, if it's not worth it to you, walk away. You don't need to make a spectacle out of it blaming everyone involved.
It's not often we get to see behind the scenes of how a deal gets done. It's shady and sometimes unfair. It's business. Any time money is involved, it can get ugly. It's not the rosie posie status updates that a lot of you are used to.
It went sideways when folks started pimping for higher prices.
Isn't that a separate issue? I only said that driving prices up isn't good for our community. It's better when more guns are in our hands. I've said the same about VZ-58s. Vendors test the waters and there's no need to take the bait. I would have liked this so much better if a price was stated and they were available to buy. Simple. No shenanigans. No multiple threads. Gun in hand.
