I was researching the m10x on American forums and came across this firing pin / dry firing issue multiple times (these are from
2015/16 so I do assume M+M has come a long way to solve these issues):
"After I purchased the gun I dry fired it about 10 times and the end of the firing pin came out the barrel. I'm a new guy so I had no clue. Took the gun apart, sent a picture of the pin and emailed Ron. He responded in 10 minutes saying they've not had problems with the firing pins but
he wouldn't suggest dry firing. He overnighted me a firing pin, keeper and about 50 stickers. His help before buying and quick response since has made me proud to have bought an American designed, manufactured and assembled quality firearm."
"I was shooting Golden Tiger and Tula black label ammo from my M10X and was getting 2-3 out of 20 fail to ignite rounds and the primers showed solid, deep pin hits.
First four 30 round mags went 100% but after that the problems started and got worse.
That same batch of ammo is basically 100% sure fire from all my other x39 rifles.
Made mention of this when I sent my M10X back for all the other issues.
Not sure whats going on with that but maybe the shape of the tip of the firing pin is contributing to it.
I also had the charging handle coming back and impacting the receiver top half (on both sides) and galling the metal as well as lots of both fail to feed and fail to eject stove pipes. Tried to up the gas setting to 2 with no change.
Also had what I suspect was a blown out primer that blew the firing pin back 2" out the back of the bolt where it was stuck. Had to drive out the retaining pin and then the firing pin could be removed. The FP looks OK but the retaining pin is all galled up where the pin came back and went over top of it and the retaining pin now just drops right out when tilted.
Very disappointed in this rifle but I ran a big risk buying a new rifle design from a small company.
I will let you know but so far their customer service is very good. I just hope they can solve all these issues."

"I talked with Mike Meier at that factory, and he told me I could relay this to you here:
They do know about a soft-pin issue that may affect some rifles. They already have replacement pins in stock, and they'll be replacing that when they get your rifle in, along with anything damaged by that pin failure (ie: firing pin.)
There's also an extractor spring issue that has come to their attention, and they'll take care of that at the same time, which should correct the stove-pipes you reported.
The galling of the extruded cover is new to us, but they'll have a look at that, and let you know what they find, and what they do to fix that issue."

Again these are just some negatives from the early years I came across among all of the positive reviews of this platform. It's understandable to see these kind of failures in the first produced m10x's. I'm on the pre-order and I just hope the rifles being sent up here are top notch.
As far as the Vz.58 goes, I've put in way too much money into that rifle to make it into what the m10x comes out of the box. That said, the m10x should scratch all the x39 tactical NR rifle itch.
