I might be confused... but the case your thinking of I believe it was a black bear. It was a woman that was killed. Her coworkers had fire extinguishers and shovels. No guns, bangers or spray allowed.
They got it off her and were rendering first aid... the bear came back for seconds and a second worker was injured.My daughter was onsite in Ft Mac when that happened . It was not good . The womans co-workers went after the Black Bear with anything they could lay their hands on . Unfortunately , they couldn't drive the bear off and it killed her , a terrible day . As far as I know , and I may be wrong , the policy of firearms on site hasn't changed . As a matter of fact , there hasn't been much said about the incident since . I'm sure some of you may know more about the after incident response .
