BCL102 Range Review, SECOND RANGE TRIP POST 123!!!

Beautiful rifle Jay
That's the exact same QD mount I want to get do you mind if I ask how much did you paid and where you got yours from?

Beauty rifles!

And thanks! It is the rifle I intend to take to Africa @ retirement 'if' I make it...

I got the Alaska Arms rings directly from them, called them up & had a GREAT chat! alaskaarmsllc.com

Cheers
Jay

A little bump, back from moose hunting...

Cheers
Jay

Paul's bull, I was second on scene & couldn't resist taking a pic of the BCL102 on the bull.

Scott's cow, I was second on scene again but this time I got the assist... Put her down with a headshot...
And before anyone says anything about my favourite hat donned for the pic, I had my hunters orange hat with me.

See... Chuckle

dammit Jay ...... i been resisting this rifle hard..... not hating it, just purposefully staying away from these threads haha
I was gonna go the MH route but they just got too pricey too fast for my tastes. I'd rather spend that cake on a pierce action and build me a bolt gun (which i'm doing)
But looking at the price and also the rifle looks good in that OD finish. I'll keep watching for your comments on it but as of now, it's on the buy list.
looks like a fun hunt man. Congrats!! I have meat from a new hunters moose I helped her harvest on the 24th but my moose draw up north is on till the 15th so gotta get back out there.
I'll be gunnin with my Ruger M77 MKII ;)

Chuckle, my job is done here... And thanks, the moose hunt was great!

Please keep us posted on this or send me a message if you end up building with that barrel. If I get one of these rifles , .338 federal would be exactly my choice too.

For some reason I knew you will mention 338 Federal since we all wanted one in a semi and guess it's next to impossible to get a barrel for the m305 lol.

What's your thought about one in 375 Raptor Thomas?

I can get a .338 federal barrel..... but it's gonna cost me more than a sane person would spend so untill I can master my machines and turn a barrel with those details out myself...... I've actually moved on. Probably the main reason I kinda got bored with the platform though I'll never part with the two I hung on too.
but I'm still hoping to own a nice semi auto .338 federal and this may be the best , most affordable option. I see a few people that i recognize and would trust thier personal reviews so I'm following along

I'll be honest, I am not familiar with the 375 raptor ....

Got to try mine today at the range..

Rifle had a hard time feeding from the mags (IVI and Magpull). You could feel the bolt slowing down rapidly when it got to the mag. I had about 10 FTF within 60 rounds. 6 of them were form feeding the first round from the mag.
The rear takedown pin is extreemely stiff and only comes out with a punch.
When I was done shooting, I noticed that both sides of the Amby safety selector unscewwed themselves....

Definitely, the gun needs a serious break in period ... But i still like it.
With Hirtenberger group average was about 2.5'' at 100 yard but I manage to get one sub MOA group.

Sounds like my rifle! I've had TONS of failure to feed and light primer strikes, but I have an after market trigger in mine, will go back to the factory trigger and try again but I'm sceptic it will make any difference.

I also ordered a carbine spring and buffer from brownels, i'll see it that makes any difference. It does feel quite under sprung compared to my G2.

I have a Gen 2 but I have had zero issues, because I change everything out that was BCL. I believe most of the problem with these rifles are the BCG. I never had to modify my pistol mags with the JP ent BCG. I have never had a FT fire or FT feed problem

I still cannot believe the state of these.
I mean NEA is NEA but only in Canada would consumers drop $2K on a brand new rifle fully expecting it to be problematic at best if not nonfunctional, have to swap out every OEM part with aftermarket to the tune of another $1K just to get it to run and still think it's a good go lol

I should have apologized in advance to the NEA fan club first I suppose, so I apologize! :D
