See, this is where you and the other fanboy nuthuggers go off the rails.
VERY VERY FEW would have accepted the $2000 retail price here, when they sell for $1000 in the US.
Wanstalls price made sense because $1450 is basically US dealer pricing, + conversion, and a decent 25-30% markup for them. Prophet/IRG etc could bring them in cheaper then that still if someone wanted to go that route.
$2000 here makes NO SENSE at all for a $1000USD rifle.

I guess that could be true, but would strike me as a terrible business plan.

I'll be honest, I'm not sure that you're following my point, and I'm not following you... I'm not even certain what we're debating anymore.

Using spare parts makes total sense. The guns already existing makes total sense. The price jump does not.
