Meh, if it isn't an AR, than it isn't an AR. Couldn't care less if its unicorn-tricked Prohib-legged t-rex-human-faun-legged-goat.

Sell me a non restricted upper/lower that takes AR parts to complete at an affordable price and since I have everything else needed already sitting at home all I can say is take my money.

I will find out, I am 6-4 and 3bills and im used to shooting an M96 expeditionary with a spectre DR and its a heavy bastard, so holding their rifle felt much much lighter but thats not syaing much lol

If it's somewhere around the weight of a comparable AR15- like 7-7.5lbs before optics- I would be all over one in .223 and if I like it, yeah, one in .30 RAR too!

This would be the way to go, stripped lowers and barreled and unbarreled uppers. Save all the time spent dressing them up and just pump out receivers. They would never be able to make enough. I feel this is what we want and a big reason the ar is so prolific down south. The joy of creation!

If these receivers accept all AR parts (from the instagram post) they should concentrate their efforts on selling receiver sets and a complete rifle in 5.56 rather than manufacturing a dozen barrels and corresponding bolts. Trying to introduce multiple calibres to the market at once will result in the customer being the beta tester.

I think that would be a great way to go. Those that just want a rifle can get one in the most popular chambering, and those that want to build something themselves can do so.

This, 100% this!!

Very excited about a receiver set with a good nr length barrel. Really unfortunate that I just bought a new upper set for my ar

Materials and manufacturing-wise, it shouldn't cost any more than a good AR. Assuming it's in the same ballpark, say $1000-1500, it'll sell well. Stripped uppers and lowers in the $300ish ballpark each would be even better, to allow us to build our own. I'm definitely keeping an eye on this.

The cost is in the development. The AR15 is already a proven design, any #### head with a CNC machine can pump them out. These guys spent the money and years of time to get a fresh design approved.

True... but their choice now is, at one end of the spectrum, to price them reasonably and recover their costs through volume sales or, at the other end, price them higher and MAYBE recover their costs more quickly due to the higher profit margin... or maybe alienate the market and not sell enough to make a go of it, depending on just how high they price them. Depends on how quickly they want to recover their R&D costs.

They have a design... so at this point, with the machinery and plans, "any #### head with a CNC machine can pump them out". Whether they're producing AR15s or these guns, if they have the plans and the CNC machinery, the production cost is now the same either way.

I'm curious to see where on this spectrum they decide to price the product. If they don't price them too highly, they'll sell a ton of 'em.
