Browning x-bolt 7mm08

Well this explains alot. It seems that my shots always veer into the vitals instead of the guts. The deer don't get far at all. Then again i shoot a left handed gun and only shoot them when they are facing to the right. That takes a lot of patience. I think you're onto something. I've never checked which way my barrel is twisted though. Maybe someone knows. Its an abolt. ;)
LIAR, LIAR, ha ha ha

I am so happy, I got rid of that POS 7mm08 and will now hunt with my 06 again with total confidence. I have to admit because I am honest, I got rooked into buying an inferior caliber(7mm08). NEVER AGAIN, happy hunting GUT SHOOTERS and LIARS. PS, to bad their aren't more honest people in the hunting community willing to admit they are wrong.

What is funny is I run a 30-06 and a 7mm-08 and speed numbers and energy numbers are darn near the same. You seem to be the only one on the internet that has problems with this caliber.

The problem is the bullet, I never thought to take a second shot at a deer with my 06 because they usually die instantly or very shortly after. The 7mm bullet simply does not do the job from my very first experience using it. The deer got away from me because I assumed it wouldn't get far but what a shock to find out differently. My second thought was to follow the blood trail but their wasn't any, nothing. When I found the deer (one of) it was still alive and ran from me again with no blood trail to follow. I finally caught up to it and put one more through the lungs, it took me a few mins. to get to it and it still was alive and had to put a third shot in the head, finally dead. Not exactly a good first impression as far as I am concerned. I am sorry for being so pissed but I never seen the likes of this before. My brother in law who convinced me to buy it made good on his word to buy it from me if I didn't like it and he did just that, very good guy. The only thing I regret is not having such a nice rifle, BROWNING X-BOLT. My 06 is an INTERARMS MARK-X and even though it is a very nice well built rifle, it is heavy and my damaged shoulders complain to much.

YUP pretty much a TROLL me thinks ! jmo RJ

Kind of turning out that way isn't it...

Many thousands of hunters have successfully and happily used the small 7mm's for decades... many decades if you go back to the 7x57... yet this one rifle magically creates a 90 degree trajectory within inches of penetrating an animal with the bullet ending up in the guts...

Sounds like similar trajectory/behaviour from a 6.5 bullet out of a carcano that was fired from the grassy knoll.
The "new" magic bullet.....7mm.

Hmm, wasn't there an african hunter way back in the day that used the lowly old 7X57 to kill elephants, most one shot kills? And it seems to me, I may be wrong here fellas so help me out, that the 7X57 has a ballistic twin in the 7mm08? It has larger case capacity than your 300 savage, better ballistic coefficients than both you beloved 300 and 35 rem, better trajectory and energy down range, but some how it makes 90 turns once in the body cavity. It is one of those things that makes you go hmm......

Remember what Cheech and Chong said? Looks like BS, smells like BS....must be BS!

YA ok call me a liar and for what reason would I go buy a new rifle 7mm08 just to knock it down, TROLL.

Most all AFRICAN hunters who used small caliber bullets always took head shots at close range to drop the beasts, GET YOUR INFO STRAIT BEFOR POSTING YOUR BS, TROL.

As well as the 7mm bullets have a better section density then the ones used in 300 savage.
