Obviously the container wasn't packed one order at a time with a box with John's folder and 8 magazines at the front because he ordered first. They just put 500 folders in followed by 500 fixed and the extra magazines were somewhere in there as well.
I don't know how many guys or how much warehouse space TI has to work with but it couldn't have been as much as they needed to be able to do things the way they should have.



I only read what they said on the weekend that they had a couple hundred ready to ship and that they would be going out Monday morning. If they posted other info somewhere else I would have missed it. I though that I read on one of these threads that some guys had gotten tracking notification yesterday.
Yes, the order rifles were shipped does not make a lot of sense considering most of the guys who ordered early would have ordered a folding stock version. I just think that there must have been a good reason to do things the way they did or they would have done things differently. Maybe they simply figured they would be able to have them all shipped in less than a week so they just started shipping what they could as they were unloading the container.
You are 100% correct, more open and honest communication would have gone a long way to calm a lot of the discontent and anger of a lot of the guys.
I'm the same as you, I'd rather be given honest and timely bad news so I can deal with it than be left twirling in the wind to come up with my own ideas of what may be happening.

Fixed it for you. Just saying cause having some experience in the shipping/receiving/trucking industry I can say I would not have handled this order the same way they have. They might have been better off farming it out if they didn't have the proper warehouse facilities and staff to handle this properly.

A bonded warehouse and staff could have had this done in a week or so I'd say. Yes they would have had to lay some dough out but I think it would have benefited them in the end. Happy customers are repeat customers.

Totally depends on how it was loaded! On skids not a huge deal but hand bombed would take a lot longer not to mention you need to do a count and inspect for damage as well! Depending on the facilities you have to work with it could take a couple hours to a day or more. I once delivered 1 skid of stamps to Canada post, high value load and I was there for 9 hours offloading and waiting for the count to be verified!
 
How about serial number verification? Recording the information on each gun in a firearms register (dealers still have to have them). Verifying that each order is complete and correct (eg: 2 rifles, one wood, one folding, 10 mags, 1 sling, 1 handguard)? verifying that there is no damage or issues with build? Confirming PAL numbers? Yeah 2 hours, sure. As far as farming it out goes, I'm not aware of any bonded warehouses with business firearms licenses, so that could be an issue - trans shipment is different than splitting a shipment out and shipping it, and as noted, that wouldn't meet a few of the more restrictive requirements for dealers. I wouldn't trust anyone, regardless of bonding, with the future of my business and my future freedom - would you?

PS - I've never seen the Chinese use skids in firearms sea cans, so it's all hand bomb.

I guess you just don't know what you don't know.

Doesn't mean they were in the can on skids - that means that when no one was paying for the weight (or the skids - yes, they cost) they were on skids. Things are different when every pound costs. I have actually wasted hours de-skidding product to save on shipping, yes it's stupid, but it happens constantly in every business, not just guns. Shipping skids cost the same as shipping the firearms on them due to cube weight calculations, 20 skids costs the same to ship as the first layer of guns above them for each skid, due to the space they take up.

Even if the receiver's prayers were all answered, and they did arrive on skids (highly unlikely - but let's pretend, it seems to be your thing), that doesn't negate the requirements of Canadian firearms regulations regarding documentation, recording SN's, verifying orders, confirming PAL's (which can take a few minutes, you might agree) packaging and shipping. Your assertion that this could be done in 2 hours is simply garbage, it isn't happening, and it can not happen, and it is entirely unreasonable to expect it to happen.
 
So the debate is down to if they were packed on skids or not? Only one way to settle this... meet at the big oak tree at sunrise... and bring your type 81 and all your mags!!

This statement alone tells me you don't really know what you are talking about! Sorry but there are many warehouse companies out there that could handle firearms, I've been in/dealt with many over the years. I've done explosives, other dangerous good, high value and yes firearms shipments.

And a big LOL to not trusting these businesses! Companies trust their high value/highly dangerous, highly valuable product with them every single day of the year, I don't know how you think warehouses operate but they are very capable of receiving the international shipment and getting it fully processed to be picked up by Canada post to ship out to customers.

Also, do any of these businesses work for free - and how many of those folks who have spent the last 3 weeks complaining are willing to cover the cost - ie pay the extra charge for the quicker delivery. It seems everyone wants Rolls Royce service, but they want it for a KIA price. Somehow, as always with Canada's firearm businesses, it falls back on the dealer. Given the typical 20-25% markup (not margin, mark up) on retail firearms, I'm amazed anyone still bothers. It's a business with low margins, low profits, lousy distributors and customers with a crappy attitude who want the world - for 50% off. Haven't been involved in the business side for years, haven't missed a single second of it.

I'm done.

Assumptions! West coast, east coast and U.S. east coast. And A few have said they would pay extra for quicker delivery, go back in the dealer thread and you will find some. I would pay a little extra for quicker shipping as well but I'm thinking it wouldn't help anyway as TI is obviously struggling abit fulfilling orders. It'll come I'm sure but it's just taking awhile.

I know how much a small group of people can hand bomb in a day. 1000 rifles ain't much I could handle that with 3 soldiers when I was in the Army in an afternoon doing Qm duties.
 
realized my new e-mail account has some ugly catch all rules, i figured id reach out to TI and ask if my order had been shipped.

They said my folder was scheduled to go out tomorrow or the next day... so looks like my time looking at the gun #### on this thread is getting shorter.

Cool story bud. Your “experience” has nothing to do with why this is taking so long. Everyone knows you could unload a can in a friggin’ day that’s why this is so annoying. It’s sad that it’s gone on this long.

Still waiting. Still waiting, ordered April 2016.
 
My educated guess would be... lol. They only pull out a few rifles at a time to a total of however many they plan to ship that day.... And leave the rest in the container so they are secure..... Cus where else in strathmore are u going to securely store 1000+ rifles ?.
 
Waaaaay back in September me and a buddy speculated (considering sorting, checking and shipping times) a late November early December arrival of our folder..... Seems our prediction will be right. So to me, TI is on schedule.
