Yes I know the topics been beaten to death
I know it's a limbo

what can I do with mine?
can they be sold on the EE or it's an infraction? technically it's not illegal yet

thx :)

Pinned to two rounds of 50 beo, been checked numerous times at hunting road checks

Yeah, but is that a hunting regulation or federal law? In Alberta all semi-auto rifles are limited to 5 rounds for hunting as per the Wildlife Act, regardless of what the federal laws say. I have to use 5 round clips in my Garand while hunting even though the full 8 is legal in the firearms act.

Have they made any specific comments about them ?

Aw crap, now you’ve gone and done it! ;). Search by username brian46 and you can find out all he has to say on the issue.

Bottom line is until someone is charged and it goes to court, no one can say for sure. Rcmp’s opinion is that as long as they hold no more than 2 rounds of beo they are legal. CSSA’s opinion is that as long as they hold no more than 5 rounds of beo they are legal. The law hasn’t changed since these magazines were introduced in Canada.

RCMP legal comments in the FRT table.

This is a similar bulletin to the "bulletin72" some people religiously carry thinking it is a get out of jail free card for LAR mags, etc.

According to our current government, the RCMP is the only entity tasked with deciding gun legalities in canada. If you end up going to court for this, who can you call on as an expert that will carry that same weight in court?

FYI an individual had his beowulf mags seized and he was charged. Neither the CSSA or any of the other orgs offered the individual any help. likely due to legal costs he took a deal instead of going to court.

C’mon Brian, at least be honest enough to mention the fact that the individual was facing drug charges...that little detail you conveniently failed to mention just might have something to do with why gun orgs didn’t want to get involved and why the individual took a deal. I know you are on a mission to save all Canadians from the horrible evils of 5rd beo mags but your post above is more than a little disingenuous.

Drug charges were seperate and already dealt with prior to

FRT is just one mans opinion. I'll wait for a court case.

I await the court case as well, but until then my mags stay pinned to two just like all new imports declared as 50 beowulf have to be for entry.

I am not rich enough to make myself the test case. But we shouldn't have to wait long with the amount of people who continue to state they cram 14 or 15 rounds in theirs in defiance every time this topic comes up (that is if they are actually doing what they say)
