Type 81 Owners Corner !

I put my rounds in the centre. did not take any photos. Range was too muddy. did not want to stand in mud to take photos.

Well, we are supposed to remove ours. I took this one home.

There are pics earlier in this thread of shooting unsupported at 25m. 8” group.

Which is normal for these looks like.

That’s what I am talking about. ####ty irons, and short sight radius.

Or ####ty ammo and careless shooter??

To be frank, I expect these guns to shoot like a regular AKM. And that's about what I'm seeing.

With a finer front sight blade, they will do a little better. With an optic they will do a lot better, but if anyone is expecting moa from a mass produced blaster - forget it.

Even issued C7A2's are not typically moa guns, and they will outperform the type 81.

Weeks ago when I still had my order in... I thought the EE price would be $1500-$1650???
I got corrected by another member, where the EE price will be well below retail? I'm thinking $700-$800 now..
Straight receivers only.. Bent will be scrap metal or parts guns

So I got my rifle and headed to the range. I did not clean it just checked the barrel oiled the bolt and put 160 rounds through it. Used all five mags that came with it and no issues. Took awhile to get on target but the pic speaks for itself, a rest was used and some fliers were noted. The rifle is what it is, a cheap Chinese rifle that goes bang every time. It's not a target rifle but it is accurate for what it is.

We can all speculate, and definitely some will show up on the EE. Personally I think price will be driven by mag availability (or lack thereof) more than anything else.

Basically the earliest owners got tons and tons of mags, the last ppl to get their orders shipped will get only 2 or 3 mags with no prospect of more mags for who knows how long.

If we were awash in $29 mags, the EE price would be higher than retail if they remain scarce. Without mags... Dunno.

you did well with the ram, but you grazed the pig's leg only.
damn pig must be angrier than a soldier now.

The point of aim was between the pigs legs. The front sight is wide so you have to guess where everything is but the MPI was just a little low. Tomorrow I will take it out past 75 meters. I'm hopeful that it will shoot minute of pumpkin or Gord.

I thought BV's target pic was about right for this type of rifle. Just curious BV, did you adjust the front site as you went?
