Possible T81 New Issue

TI is only the importer, this is the risk you take buying Norinco or Poly rifles without being able to inspect it before you pay. As long as they will refund or replace defective units they've done what they said they would do. It is someone's fault but they are in China and don't care if you're happy with what you paid for as long as they get their % of the money. These are sold with no warranty for a reason and it's also why you only have a 7 day window to return it. No one forced anyone to buy one and we should all know that buying a rifle from China is a risk. If you aren't willing to take the risk then don't buy one.

No warranty ? link please.

Surely they're not all fubared.

You only see posts from guys who got fubared rifles here. There were 1000 fixed and 1000 folders imported + some number for retailers. I saw one rifle posted genuinely out of spec. Another four saying they got them bent.

I think shipping delay was due to TI checking the pre-order rifles and replacing outofsepc ones with rifles from retailers' stock. Otherwise the shipping delay impossible to explain.

I'm still waiting and this #### is getting to out of hand.

A buddy and me did a huge order and it has been nothing but lies and BS along the whole way.

Think it's time to cancel, get our refund and be done with them from now on.

Give them the benefit of the doubt 1,2, 4or 5 times now and nothing has changed so no more

Your situation is simply speechless. A customer who drops so much dough ($6k, was it?) on one order should be given the VIP treatment from A to Z... it's just good business. If I owned an online business, big spenders like you would be in my privileged customers category.

There are some funny individuals in charge of TI's operations, that's for sure...

You would to think wouldn't ya!?!?!?!?

Not too mention I had a seperate order for myself that seemed to have been forgotten so I ended up canceling that about a week or so ago with no refund yet!?!?!?!

I see.

South of the border we haven't been able to get firarms straight from china for over 25 years. Its unfortunate to see modern events like this being so risky. The last chinese 'anything' we have gotten were T56s of very early variations from Albania and they may have been well used, but they were ALL true military weapons.

I can see now why some of you guys may be paturbed with anything chinese, considering the recently available T56s are considered 'undesirable' also.

Here you go Eden

I'm not OCD and I don't mind blemishes, but I do mind if the geometry is f**ked up on them. I've recently read a guide about how to hand pick a good AK in the States (with stamped receivers) and it appears as though the geometry not being bang on can cause some severe uneven wear and reliability issues with time, thus it's recommended to look for signs of inconsistent wear when buying AKs second hand. As a general rule, it was advised to stay away from guns with bad trunnion riveting or barrels that seem off center. Sound familiar?

Sounds really familiar, like where I said I'd stay away, in another thread. Imagine you finding info like that, lol.

Yet some seem to continue to think it is no problem.

I don't see the huge deal around bent rifles.

Return it for a replacement or a refund. If its a hassle, tell all your friends Tactical Import is shiet.

My work here is done.

This! You have done well.

The first really promising report was posted today, one of the guys has around 800 rounds through his with no issues other than some paint peeling on the gas tube cover.
If you wait a year or two I'm sure you'll find them for $500-$600 on the EE, I would definitely want to hand inspect a used one though before paying for it.

Why, to see if it was bent? Or bubba'd? That is no problem, I read around here, somewhere.......

And the skill of reading. Good post!

I, like one or two others have said, am so glad I ditched and got the refund. Knowing if any more come in, that they would have been produced with these ones, I see no future interest, either. The one single plus out of this whole thing is the epic daily reading. Poor Chinese QC well known, but this is beyond that, and then some.

Seems like it is more of a case of "settling for", since they are here, and some have shipped. Wonder how many would have sold for $1000 if they were not known about until they were on store shelves?

Hope all you new owners get your enjoyment from these, as many of you certainly deserve that, after this whole ordeal. (And it's not even over yet).

Got mine today, folding stock is misaligned and off position. Rest of the rifle looks straight at first glance, but the folding makes it look crooked. Not sure what i will do with this. Never had any issues with a 200$ SKS, so to me, this is disapointing. I will dissassemble it this WE and look for other issues.
I’m thinking if I resale it someday, i will have to sell it as a crooked one, even if it shoot straight and has no issues.

Or you could send it back
