Production Optics Div ???

I have had many positive dealings with Sean (Freedom Ventures) and he has gone out of his way to accommodate me. I first met him, face to face 11 years ago.

He shows an email from C_More and you say he's unprofessional, I say you, LeadMonkey, are the unprofessional one here.

bsand, have you dealt with him before?

To put things in perspective, I believe the contention here is with regards to the durability of RTS2, and that a product like the Venom would be more of a practical purchase by virtue of its price and warranty.

For reference, here is C-more's warranty statement:

Our products are warranted against original defects in material and/or manufacturing for one year. This warranty is void if the unit has been abused, disassembled, or modified/tampered with in any way from it's original configuration. This warranty does not apply to defects caused by normal wear and tear, improper handling, incorrect installation, accidents, alterations/modifications to the original configuration, repairs made by unauthorized parties, aftermarket accessories, or abnormal use. Due to the fragile nature of glass, the lens is specifically excluded from warranty coverage. This warranty is limited to the original purchaser and is not transferable.
Pat. No. 5,369,888 Pat. No. 5,383,278 Other U.S. & Foreign Patents Pending.

And here is Vortex's:

Our warranty is about you, not us.

It's about taking care of you after the sale. The VIP stands for Very Important Promise to you (our customers) that we will do the following:
Repair or replace your Vortex product for any reason at NO CHARGE to you. It doesn't matter how it happened, whose fault it was, or where you purchased it.

  • Unlimited lifetime warranty
  • Fully transferable
  • No warranty card to fill out
  • No receipt needed to hang on to
  • If you ever have a problem, no matter the cause, we promise to take care of you.

I don't give a crap what Eric or Max or any other sponsored shooter uses. I give a crap how a manufacturer supports its products. Like many other mortal, non-sponsored shooters that treat this like a hobby, financial resources need to be directed properly. We are consumers first before anything, and I am happy we are able to voice opinions about the products we pay good money for.

In this forum yes, and all those interactions were unprofessional. He was more so wanting to be right, than professional.

Based on those actions he's not someone I would want to deal with at all. I rather go without. Luckily for me I get my stuff directly from USA and not thru an overpriced middle.man.

ON directive as posted by BOD is that the MDs can choose to recognize the division effective immediately

Yep, my bad

Just confirmed on ipsc Ontario, lvl 1s and 2s are good to go if the MD wants to recognize that division....and Jan 1, 2018 for all matches

all good - question i have is the way i read the directive all production list guns are good... but i keep hearing from MDs that its tupperware only?

Where did you hear this from? Specific European sections?

Yes, Germany and Czech Republic have a 1000 gram weight limit but allow slide milling (basically only polymer striker-fired can meet the weight)

Also, the Nordic regions (Denmark, Finland, Norway, Sweden) have their own rules and allow frame mounted optics (no drilling)

Most of the rest of the world (including Canada) is ruling IPSC Production gun list guns and rules with addition of rear mounted optic, no slide milling (except USA which has its own rules for Carry Optics)

Hence a 3 year trial period to work things out
