Type 81 Owners Corner !

from your post : "We found that to zero at 100m the sight needed to be adjusted to have the "3" showing upwards."
Looking at your post talking about "0", "1" and "3" leaves this impression.

That's CGN way, if you hitting low at 300m with "3" setting, move it to "4" and wiggle a little until you start hitting the gong.

It's called "I am an experienced shooter and know my holdovers. Fook you with your zeroing and using irons properly. you suck."

so how straight are the sides or top rails of your receiver like if your have the bolt carrier group and spring and all that out and just look down it by eye ? mine has a bend in on the right side and bends out on the left its not a lot but I can see it I'm thnking of sending it back but I don't know if it a big deal

Its pretty noticable. Receiver itself looks slightly curved but this could be optical illusion. The barrel is noticeably leaning right by like 5-10 degrees. Ill post a pic. Im not even mad. Its kinda hilarious. Free cornershot capability!

If noting the numbers on sights leaves you with the impression I've never used iron sights before, that's fine. Carry on. :)

I feel your pain bro!
How far is it from Thunder Bay to Mississauga?!?! Mines been 4 days going that far ffs

Mine took 2 days to go from thunder Bay to Mississauga, and likely drove through Ottawa on the way there. Now it's been in Mississauga all day, hasn't left yet, and has to go back up the 401 and 416 to Ottawa. Madness.

Ottawa is a regional shipping hub, why the flux did it have to go to the GTA???

Your barrel might be bent right by a degree, that is not 10 to 15 degrees. Not even remotely close to that.

But if it were mine, I would return that gun. The stock misalignment is bad enough I'd not live with that unless deeply discounted.

Probably had to go through Gateway in Mississauga for some reason.

It may just be the angle of the camera but that one looks REALLY bad.
The rifle is pointed slightly to the left from the center of the lense and you can still see the barrel visibly going off to the right.
Yeesh.
I would not be happy with it. Rough machining, scratched receivers, dinged up wood/stocks, meh who cares about that nonsense. Good to go on cosmetic defects.
But crooked barrels and crooked stocks for $1K+!? I would be sending it back for 100% full refund for a replacement with dealer paying shipping.
That's unacceptable, I don't care how much people try to defend it. It's BS.

If TI knows there are bent barrels by now (how could they not) why are they still shipping them out to people instead of culling the junk from the shipment, putting them aside and only sending out straight rifles to people who paid a lot of money for them?

Because its TI, and because there are likely no rifles left

Got mine after work today, looks nice and straight with no scratches or anything on it. Only got 2 of my 5 mags though with the order, kinda disappointing.

Nice and straight though, all the way from the front sight to the back of the folding stock, so I'm relieved with that respect. I'll give it a whirl on Saturday.
