.375 group is officially open now.

I'm in the 375 club now! I snagged a 375 ruger stainless Hawkeye off the EE last week. I put together some mild loads and shot some water filled beer cans the other day. I'm pretty happy so far.

Well I sold my .375H&H Browning Safari last year, but love the caliber. My next .375 will be a Pre-64 model 70. It would be a good mate for my .300H+H. I have a nice Pre-64 standard stock so if I could just find an "H&H" length action...Hmmmm.

I added a 21" stainless factory tapered T/C Contender carbine barrel in 375 Win to my 375 collection.

375 Win - two 375JDJ - 375H&H -375RUM.

Thanks Gate... The only thing that makes me unhappy about it is... Me having this one, means someone else doesn't have one anymore....

It is indeed heartbreaking when someone is forced to give up thier NEW KING, but you can take solice in knowing it went to a good home, and take pleasure in knowing you have the best .375 caliber hunting cartridge ever devised by mankind.

:dancingbanana:

Have had a 375 H&H in a Win. M-70 Alaskan for about 4 years now. Really enjoy it. I also picked up a pre 64 300 H&H in the same Alaskan stock style. Kind of a matched pair of H&H's.

Don't sweat it...the original owner probably upgraded to an H&H. :)

Speaking of the H&H...I may have just added another one to my stable, despite my best intentions to reduce my gun collection. I recently purchased a lovely Weatherby Vanguard in .375H&H, not for myself but rather as a Christmas gift for an unworthy family member. My wife is now leaning towards not gifting him with a gun, so this one may come to live here permanently. It's a Dangerous Game version, with the nice B&C stock and upgraded sights, and of course the excellent trigger that comes standard on all S2 Vanguards.

All I need to do now is mount a scope and put a few rounds through it, maybe put a tiny ding on it somewhere, so that it's no longer "new" enough to act as a gift in her eyes. Pictures perhaps to follow...

I love the 375 cal - Similar trajectory as a 3006 ... leaves a bigger hole but seems to do less damage to the meat. I know it does a lot less damage than my 300 Win Mag ... however I also found that I dont do near as much load testing as I do with some of my other calibers - must be something to do with a 300 gr bullet LOL

Oh yeah I can relate to that. I was actually just thinking about "upgrading" to a flip-phone! Haha.... I jest of course, if a H&H had come along at what considered a good deal i would have snapped that up. As it is, the Ruger is a nice handy rifle in sweet cartridge. I'll have to see if i can fluff up a blacktail with it sometime.

^ That'll work.

Incidentally, my old flip-phone works great around the area where I live; smartphones...not so much...:)

Thank you, am looking for new bullets to play with this winter.

I have a 375 H&H and a 375 CT and a small selection of bullets to play with in both. Part of that selection I have yet to try are some I picked up from Matrix Ballistics Ltd. I'm not sure if Matrix is still in existence but the ones I have are a 270gr bonded and a 300gr FBRN bonded.
UPDATE:
Just did a quick check of the Matrix website. It appears that the new owner presently only makes bullets in the following diameters, in both target and hunting;
- .243
- .264
- .277
- .284
- .308
:( If so, it's too bad as their product and quality are top of the line.
