WARNING SKS prices will go up in 2017

Wow, so much for Canadian brother, no Liberals in this house, don't want your money or oil we have our own, buy a ticket take your chances! As for separation, I will tell you the same thing as I tell Quebecers, if you want to leave, leave, but the land belongs to Canada, if you don't like the deal your province is getting, fight for change in the government! Then again, you don't even say your province, so!

lol it's just a joke man, except where I said stop voting left wing. I love y'all even you east siders :)

Just for the hell of it I went into the Canadian Tire in Langley they didn't have SKS but the guy said he could get it, I let him know I wasn't really looking for one. He was Oblivious to the letter released and said maybe it was just corporate stores not the franchise ones. He could be misinformed,I just thought I'd ask anyway out of curiosity .

Ok, never voted liberal, never will, but you guys need to kick the NDP the heck out of the west, they ruin everything they touch, talk a good game but cannot govern and like the Lieberals, they think we are not taxed enough,,, ever!

Yea, that is odd, the one I go to here is a franchise and the owner wants to grow his sports/firearms section, but they had to box up all their sks! Maybe some stores are still trying to sneak a few out the door!

Man, I hate it when the Fear Mongers start posting bullsh**.

OH look, the SKS is still being sold in Canada, for around the $200 mark.. Just like it has for the last 3 or 4 years.. The price fluctuates with the US Dollar, as most of them are imported from the USA. and a quick google search https://goo.gl/kBJGJP proves I am right..

Umh......might want to do some more homework. I'm pretty sure most of the SKS's that landed in Canada are either from China or Eastern Europe.

Sks are being sold for $230 and up now... unless there is a sale you won’t get it for $200

It is my understanding (according to a couple of gun stores) that there is an embargo in place against firearms from Russia, but not other eastern European countries. Moisins and SKSs are drying up, but more should be on their way from some of these other countries in the new year.

Being proactive, I have nice examples of each... just in case.

Serious answer , they are ultra reliable , fun to shoot , easy to clean and maintain and shoot 7.62x39 cheap ammo.
Some actually shoot decent groups as well. It is not a target rifle by any means but some have respectable accuracy. I have a few that shoot well and others that are minute of man. Get a good one and you’ll be hooked. My main reason for owning them is the first reason I gave , ultra reliable.

Ok guys, serious question here. Why would I want an sks ?

Everybody needs one. They’re cheap, built tough, cheap, fun to shoot, cheap, they’re a piece of hostory.. oh and they’re cheap.

When I bought mine it was a no brainer at $150. If I didnt yet have one in my collection, I’d still pay today’s prices to own one. I also bought the tapco stock and all the tacticool attachments at the same time. Brought the rifle home, cleaned it all up and felvin love with the rugged “as is” condition. Sold all the plastic crap and kept it the way it came.

I think just about everyone goes through that stage at some point with their SKS. The only thing I kept is a 1" buttpad extension to make the short stock fit better.

Gentlemen,

You resurrected this thread so I gotta ask.

Who has the best SKS at the best price now?

Also, is there anyone out there that makes lead core bullets for this?

Thanks in advance. I know nothing about the SKS but it and the SVT are on my list.

Tenda has them on for $199 until Dec 15.

All this AND, they are historical military surplus rifles, most have seen action and have been refurbished back to spec. Then stored for over 50 years! Very well made, simple, strong, semi automatic firearm!
They are not for everyone but if you buy one and don't like it, easy to sell and you didn't chuck a lot of cash into it,, of course unless you bubba it, then you may or may not get your money back!

Cabela's has some nice SKS, but so do lots of others, tenda, tradex, Durham outdoors to name a few, prices are all comparable
