I feel I have been very lucky in this regard. I have not only heard various vocalizations, but I have 'talked' to them. Had then answer my calls, on three occasions.
An article I once read said that most hunters will never hear a deer make a sound. Except for their Blowing snort of course. To me,this 'snort' is not an alarm although it works as one to other deer, it's their clearing their nose to take a fresh sample of your scent. I've seen hounds do the same thing.
anyway, here's my poll

I've heard them call...sorta like a short soft whistle I can come close to making the sound on an in breath..
Also heard them bleat when stuck with an arrow.
Pretty sure everyone has heard the snorts which are a danger alert to other deer.

This years grunting buck I shot was making pig like sounds (head to the ground) while walking... Like he was on a mission...head to the ground oink oink oink sound...very cool

just completed my second year hunting so i've only heard/seen a spiker stomping his foot after we rounded a corner and busted eachother. i would absolutely love to witness a buck fight. the rest i could take or leave.

Got snorted out once a while back.
Seen two bucks look down and one said to the other "Look a thunder stick" no you fool that's ain't no thunder stick that's a 30-06 the other one replied.

I've been talking to deer for 40 years... there are dozens of vocalizations that they make at various times, and at different times of the year. As for deer "blowing," I disagree with you, they are not "clearing their noses," they are most definitely issuing a warning call to other deer.

I can vouch for that.... Big sneeze and they are off and running.

I've heard both does and young bucks make a call that sounds very similar to the chital in the video ( and when you hear that it means you're busted). Is that what everybody is referring to as a snort?

I've haven't yet heard a big buck make that sound though.

The spotted deer danger call in the video is a vocalization. I believe Whitetail deer are actually blowing air out their nose very rapidly to make their danger call. It could be that they are trying to smell danger? Yes, this is why some people refer to it as a snort.
