almost type81/ak

Almost only counts with hand gernades, this is a Type 81 forum

When you told them you wanted to return your rifle did they say the replacement could be just as bad or worse ?

Why would they say that and why would you ask that after he said the replacement showed up in good shape and that he was happy with it?
When you sent yours back is that what they told you?

almost type81/ak

Don't know what that is but it's not a T81 or an AK. Thanks for the completely irrelevant pics.

On my folder... it looks like the wood on the right side of the lower hand gaurd may be thicker then on the left.. i think and hope... this is know problem.View attachment 137467

That's how mine is too, right side is a few mm thicker. I've seen pics of others with the same thing. Btw mines also a folder, stripped down I would say there is a slight right hand bend but the barrel is straight and I'm not concerned. I wonder if there is a range of serial numbers that are bent, using different hanguards, etc? Mine is in the 201712xx range.

Has anyone tried or found a good solution to mounting optics on their 81 yet? I have an AK mount and side plate that I am going to use. I'd just not like to be the first guy to do it. If any one has and has success PM me.

Most military solutions seem to involve a forend rail system and sometimes a side extension to the rail to mount over the receiver.

I'd like to see a receiver solution myself. But there aren't any out there yet afaik.

There are two holes in the OEM rear sight base, one for a pin and one for the elevation drum. I suspect someone will eventually produce a piece of rail to attach there for an aimpoint micro, but you'd have to sort out how to lock in the handguard.

wow ppl what thread hijack. relax. dont take it so seriously.
good u didn't say it is lvl88 trolling
fsb/kgb/ doping and Mr Putin are involved.
it is not bubba if mass manufactured.
type 81 was sks/ak type bubba too before it hit mass production.
will take these to another thread

here is the relevant Q:

just found a piece of wire btw the external muzzle and the core muzzle
WTF is that?
Removed it-looks like doesn't belong to the rifle.

don't understand how that wire ring helps that

The Yugo M59/66 have the same crush ring. As y2k stated I t's to retain the rifle grenade so it doesn't fall off when pointed at a slightly downward angle.

How does that work? The ring is an open ended "spring" that is slightly larger than the grenade sleeve. When the grenade is slid over the barrel the ring gets compressed and conforms to the interior diameter of the rifle grenade and gets captured by the groove that the ring sits in.

Simple... but it's useless as the original rifle grenade launcher dimentions are too long anyways so any Chinese practice grenades won't work properly.

No they did not. I sent them the same photos I posted here and they replied the next day with instructions on how to return it for a replacement.

I'm sending mine back as well for a full refund. They did tell me that the replacement might be good, just as bad, or worse. Apparently they won't check them first, or they don't have any extra to go through... Who knows.

Mine's going back tomorrow.

There seem to be some OCD going around lol

Well, when only the best will do and you spend your life savings on a $1000 rifle made in China you expect it to be made with the most modern manufacturing techniques and for every rifle to be perfect. Kinda like buying a NEA/BCL, it's a no compromise rifle for the true elite of the firearms community.

Send it to me, I'll be the first to drill holes in your rifle :p
I've been looking at QD side mounts, will eventually buy one and further Bubba my rifle.

Are people actually still waiting for their rifles? Wow...

I hope you all get good examples. I feel I got lucky, TI is not doing more than a cursory check of these guns before they send them out, if they are doing a check at all. One of my 4 rifles was still in the bag unopened, and the other 3 were only slit open enough to slide out some of the barrel at most. No way they checked mine for any ground bolts and whatever straightness check is possible through a plastic bag is a new one for me.

I am happy with my guns, I can not say the same for my dealings with TI getting them. Unfortunately I still have to wait for them to make good on their obligation and send me my remaining mags. But hey, they are going to toss me 120 bucks of free mags on my close to 5 g's order, it's all good.
