** Your NEA102 build **

Took the brake off and tested out the flash hider instead. I think it looks much better, but I’m going to have to get the flash hider refinished as it’s a different color.

Try giving it a shot of oil. Parkerizing is designed to hold a bit of oil to protect the metal and will likely darken a bit once applied.

If it's a NEA flash hider that won't work. I have a couple on AR10 rifles (Canadian AR10T (DND) has a different thread than regular). They seem to be nitrated? Oil didn't blacken them. That being said, I don't mind it that much.

Funny thing, If I take a picture of my Cadex barrel with the flash on behind 6000 lumens I still cant see machine marks...lol...

But sometime blueing does funing things under a flash, Has happened to me before.

His firearm has the same tell tale sign that mine do. Bathed in G96. Causes weird reflections. Also these are cerekoted and fluted, so weird angles, coating and oil/G96. Probably not good for photographs!

Appreciate the comments on the a2 stock swap, will get the parts I need so I can swap it over once I have rifle in hand.

Ordered a Sightron S-Tac 1-7 to put on top, can't wait to get this thing together.

I wouldn’t be so quick to do that. If you use a regular rifle extension than you’ll need the shorter DPMS 308 buffer and spring.

The Armalite also uses a regular ar15 rifle extension but the buffer and spring are different from the ar15 versions and the DPMS 308 version.

DPMS Carbine = ar15 length buffer tube with shorter buffer

Armalite Carbine = longer A5 buffer tube with ar15 Carbine buffer (H3)

These end up doing the same thing to make room for the extra length of travel required.

Rifle = rifle length ar15 buffer tube with 308 buffer

Hope this helps.
