Ok Guys here is my mini review of the MC 28. This is my personal opinion so take it as you will.
First of all, i have a total of 7 pistols 2 are polymer. I have shot others as well, so i think i can give a pretty good overview. The Girsan mc 28 is a great pistol that feels and shoots way above its price. It is also the only striker fired pistol i have.
It is similar in feel and dimensions to the m and p but ergonmics are really nice and it comes with three backstraps (i use the smallest ones). I have short fingers so i like the smaller backstrap. IMO its a better deal than the m and p.
The balance is really nice and the fit and finish are more than you would expect from a 400 dollar gun. Nothing feels cheap and the mags fit and drop very smoothly.
The slide racks very nicely with a more expensive feel to it but the slide release is a little stiff at first. I found it start to get better once i got some rounds downrange.
I have put 300 or so rounds down the pipe and no stoves or fte. I have tried remy umc, cci and eagle and it likes them all in 124grain.
The trigger is really nice in sa but the da is a little long and typical of most da pulls. It has the trigger pull safety so it FEELS a little long in the trigger pull but only in DA. It is impossible to fire this pistol by accident unless your finger is on the trigger. I also much prefer this pistol compared to the more expesnive glocks i tried.
As for magazines, i got a couple of cz 75 aftermarket mags from corwin and i had to dremel a VERY small amount at the mag catch to make them fit. I can live with that. The pistol comes with 2 mags, cleaning tools, a small bottle of oil and a cheap re-loader for the mags.
I don't think at its price at $399 when i got it that there is a better polymer out there that i know of.
Is it my favorite pistol? YES and NO. For price and quality yes. Its worth the money. For sheer favoritism and personal feelings no, ....that title belongs to my Tangfoglio but its a far more expensive pistol and not a fair comparison.
Bottom line is that it is your hard earned cash folks, so spend it on what you want.
To sum up: Is the mc28 worth the price? yes and then some.
Would i buy it again? YES.
Would i change anything about it? nope.
