I have had a Heym Model 22S since I had it imported over 35 years ago and have hunted with it extensively. It is what they call a bochbuchsflinte, an over/under rifle shotgun combo. They were/are available in 12, 16 or 20 gauge over most common european rifle calibers and some American non magnum calibers such as .308, 243, 223 and others. I ordered mine as a 20 guage (3") over 7x57R with a scope mounted in quick detachable mounts and an easily removable .22 LR insert for the shotgun barrel, intended use : grouse, ptarmigan and rabbits for small game and mountain goat, sheep and moose for large game. Well, for several reasons it only got used on a couple of sheep/ goat hunts but has been used almost annually for moose/ small game and now mostly deer/small game and it has been so useful and versatile that I eventually sold off all my other rifles and this is my huntin' gun. Excellent caliber for moose and deer with the right bullets and I never lack for grouse. Many German manufacturers of this sort of gun and quite a few Italian gun companies make some really nice ones at comparatively moderate prices. Check our FAIR to start.
