The REAL cost of buying a new handgun

I totally understand. I really want a nice bolt action 6.5 creedmor but I can't stop thinking about the cost of glass and mounts as well as reloading dies and acc. on top of a rifle.
I am also osessed with buying magazines for anything I own. Can never get enough.
I even freaked out and ditched guns in 9 different calibers because It sucked trying to feed them all.
All part of the fun. helps me find what I am looking for and I am much better at waiting a long time before buying accessories for a new gun.

This. Especially single action revolvers are a different kind of mature fun. Took a while to grow on me.
 
This is why I only have one pistol, I cant imagine having to spend more than the pistol again to gear up...lol..

Minimum 8 mags, IWB and OWB holsters, Trijicon sights ect ect ect... I rather not think of it...lol...
 
Hey, Merry Chrismas, Still Alive. Sorry to hear you are bored at Christmas. Why aren't you out doing those drills with Strewth et al? Don't get too hung up on it. Look at it the other way. I bought a Glock 21 not too long ago and the guy threw in two holsters and and extra mag. The Glock was basically unfired and so I got a great deal and only had to buy a mag holder.

Strewth is busy with the family and entering data at the club. The rest of the gang are in warmer climes. I’m stuck at home in the midst of an ice rain talking to you sorry bunch! Thanks for rubbing it in! I never seem to find deals like that.
 
I have one handgun. Bought maybe 2 years ago now? Its a fns 9L and was bought when they just jumped to $500. It came with 3 mags. I need nothing else for it to get use. No point in holstering it around the range for me.

The true cost of it though is having to buy a range membership every year until you sell it. So far that has cost me more then the gun.
 
Once the ACR sells im building myself a shorty AR. Got to get rid of all my training scars. :)

As for the Cadex its no longer needed since the 102 im building will take its place :)

You will make mistakes....we all do. You will buy a 320, kit it out- find your scores don't drop...it was a mistake, you will feel guilty for a brief moment but then you will move on to the a PPQ...repeat, then a...then. it is a part of your genetic make-up.

You were infected when you bought your Glock. Ar first you don't believe negative reports about your Glock, but over time, ever so slowly the reports will gnaw on you. You will succumb..... we all do you know. Eventually the Trump effect will set in. There is a 320 on the EE for $600. right now. Will it be there next week? The itch will get to your fingers and once you start on that PM you won't be able to stop. One click and you are on your way to a future date with a rehab clinic. All your friends will be there. You won;t be alone.

Deny now if you want. It is the holiday season but just wait until next May when you have a rough outing at a match and Voila! the key board will beckon. Your fate is sealed my friend it is only a matter of time. The Queen in your wallet must breath.

Bob! I didn’t realize you had a sense of humor!

I’ve shot just about all forms of semi autos, from 1911s to Desert Eagles. There is nothing under the sun that I currently truly lust for. Except another 16” AR! I love ARs!

I’ve done this long enough ( as have you!) to know that it ain’t the arrow, it’s the Indian. There is no miracle gun or caliber out there. It ain’t your 92, M&P nor my Glocks. I’m sure Miculek with a flintlock could outshoot us!
BTW, I do own other semi-autos including a 92 SBC and a MkIII BHP. I’m a believer in owning all the major actions out there!
I haven’t bought a gun in a year but I’ve bought tons of ammo. Much more fun feeling the worn plastic grip on my G19 than worrying about a new holster, new trigger and Dawson sights for another polymer toy.

Been a pleasure debating with you and I’m a partial convert on the slide stop vs overhand rack argument!

Ammo is my biggest expense over time. In the 4 years I've owned my P30L I've comfortably paid double its cost in ammunition alone.
