So after wanting one of these for a very long time I finally got one ordered! Now comes the wait that seems to last forever before it arrives.

I have a civil war era 1851 Colt Navy already that can no longer be shot so this will let me shoot something. If a really cheap black powder reproduction comes up I'll probably pick up one of those as well to complete the "collection".

I got to shoot one many years back and there were very accurate revolvers!

So if you own one of these wondering reproductions please post here!

That's the one! Happened to accidentally click on Wolverine Supplies banner at the top and figured I'd see what they had for cowboy guns and lo and behold there was one sitting there for sale.

Now is the long wait. I placed the order monday night, Wednesday the transfer was started, Transfer was approved at 7am Thursday. Probably won't go out today so it will be Tuesday before it ships. I just hope it gets here before I leave for SHOT :d

Your going to love it, I have a screenshot of the original price when wolverine brought them in, I don't think it's the same price now haha
 
I had one. Sold it as it was too beautiful for the likes of me. Gorgeous, gorgeous gun. I'm not a black powder guy so I really appreciated having the look and feel of the Navy but the convenience of a modern cartridge. You're gonna love it.

The money was from the family for a christmas gift, whatever gun I wanted. I think it was about $750.

I owned one of these about 7 years ago and like a fool I sold it and have been kicking myself ever since.

Had mine out the other day to the range. This long barrel sure make these things stupidly accurate. Almost like you have to make a point to miss.
 
Figured I'd resurrect this thread!

Girlfriend (who was anti gun) asked me to teach her how to shoot revolver. So I contacted Wolverine and ordered one for her!

Yes they are 1851 Navy reproductions and are chambered in 38 Special. I wanted these specific ones because they still have the ram rod like the Black powder versions instead of the Richards-Mason conversions.
 
I got one of these a year ago. I found the fit and finish a bit sloppy. The trigger guard was out of alignment with the frame, and there was a small burr on the backstrap. I have fired fewer than 100 rds through the thing, which may explain why the cylinder rotation is so gritty. I guess with enough wear the cyl will turn more fluidly, but right now it's pretty stiff. It was (comparatively) an inexpensive revolver, but l was a bit disappointed about those little issues. A good gunsmith could sort these things out pretty easily, l think. That said, it is a fine looking piece. And l still own it, despite periodic changes in the pistol drawer roster. I don't mean to sell it, it looks great.
 
Found a photo of a percussion conversion with .38LC cylinder. Requires a hollow based or heeled bullet.
