Poly Tech Type 81 Fixed Stock - 7.62x39, 18.7"

Guaranteed all the "don't be a snowflake" replies are from people who 1) won't be buying one or 2) have like 50 posts and 2 transactions. Pretty easy to criticize others when you're not the one dropping a grand plus tax on something that could look like the elbow trap under your sink.

If you want to pay $1k for a sheet metal SKS-D in AK furniture, totally your call. But my oh my these T81 threads do entertain...

As for the folks at FOC, they get my vote, and I can appreciate a light heart and sense of humour. But I guess having a sense of humour is a rare commodity these days, esp when people are in a battle royale to be the first kid on their block to get the newest toy...

Bang on TED

Exactly. People want confidence that the product is sound. Tell me any other commercial product we buy 'because it's 2017"?

I agree, I and some friends were looking at getting one each in the new year from tactical imports. but with seeing the problems some people are having im going to hold off till they have there quality control issues worked out. ill wait to see how my friends make out lol reminds me of penguin pushing other penguin in to the water, to see if there are predators.w:h:

All I can say is that my folder is great. Was whacking the 8 inch gong at 150 more often than not. If the receiver is bent, I can’t tell with my eyeball. Parts all seem to wear evenly and nothing out of place. Typical Norinco finish, but I like a gun that’s more like a hammer than a scalpel. Rock beats scissors.

Give it 6 months and they will be $650 on equipment Exchange. Nothing but hype over a new non-restricted offering. Chinese junk. No offense to Chinese just their terrible terrible terrible Manufacturing quality.

Actually give it six months and they will be $1200-$1500 on the EE... You are right about one thing they are chinese, but they are not junk.... CGN is being hyped by the same trolls over and over and then people who don't even own one repeating what they here.... These are not CNC machined guns, they are new AKM/AK style guns stamped out on sheet metal presses according to old world standards.... they are on par with the Norinco Ak's in the USA.... I love mine, they are amazing if you understand what it is they are!!!

I will never sell mine as I understand what it is I got my hands on... compare it to my "restricted CZ858" in the pic above it.... One fine Sino-Soiviet weapon.... It's just that most people have no concept what to expect with a Sino-Soviet gun... those who do will be happy to have one!!!

Do you own one...nope, I do. I also own three SKS's and trust me when I tell you these are not SKS in AK furniture.... they are Type 81's and you are missing out!

You paid extra to be the first to get one. Give it a while they will sell new for $700 just like the type 97. These actually cost LESS to manufacture than the type 97

It's the AK47 itch that can never be truly scratched that will keep the value on these rifles. Also, I highly doubt our market will even come close to being flooded, the demand on the type 81 is going to dwarf the supply.

They won't be going down in price ever, watch and see. The longer you wait the more you will pay and when you do pay a premium it will be to guys like me on the EE.

Doubt!

$1200-1500 in the future? Please sir, do help me understand how any sane individual would be willing to pay $1500 Hunderd dollars of their hard earned Fiat for this poor excuse for a rifle.

Only combat fottage I have seen the Type-81 in was against unarmed civilians or the Viet who wippped the floor with the The Chinese People's Liberation Army and their type-81.

Now sir as for the VZ58 the Czech are renound for their small arms manufacturing. Doesn't hurt to have a little German injected in there with the lothar walther barrels the VZ58 sports.
I'm afraid sir when it comes to the type 81 it simply is nothing more then crudely manufactured Chinese pure grade junk. And to deny that fact puts you at odds with reality.

But there is hope my fellow nutters. Whispers of a 7.62x39 we can all be proud to slip those ak mags into. The M10x D Mother F☆☆☆ing R

It won't work like that with this rifle. China isn't going to start tweaking things :)

I agree.. I bailed from the pre-order.. really glad I did Now... Don't see any on the EE yet?? During preorder times I was thinking well over $1200 + on the EE.
Now $600-$700 will be the selling point.. Ask what you want but I quess no one wants to be the first to take the financial hit!!!!
Yeah I was expecting better QC.

Shame on me... just read 10 pages of tabloid garbage; that’s what I get for closing up shop and nothing to do for a few days.

The main points you should take away from this are:
-if you buy a junky rifle it will be a junky rifle.
-people will find ways to profit from Canadians inability to own aks ( no ill will to the dealer, business is business)
-t81 is an ugly heavy clunky unmodifiable rifle.
-t81 is an ugly heavy clunky unmodifiable rifle.
- times infinity
Happy new Year

Couldn't have said it better myself, put simply many are feeling buyers remorse for their poor decisions.

Don't worry to those who bought, you may be able to salvage $600-700 on equipment Exchange for you're poor decisions.
