You Don't Own A Type 81 - You Can't Speak For Us

Meh, you can get better rifles than the T81 for $1000 but if you want a Communist AK looking rifle, then $1000 is what it costs. $1000 might be too much for some people to spend on what is essentially a fun gun??
 
If people think 1K is a lot of money they need to find another hobby...lol..

Everyone who bought a T81 knew they were overpaying from the start. But then again some of us also got a NEA 102. These 2 rifles have to be the most ridiculus buys of 2017. T81 is a 500$ rifle at best and NEA well its NEA what else is there to say....lol.

But thats the price to pay in Canada to have fun in the NR game.

T81 is good looking, unique, robust and reliable, period. It's accurate enough for a battle rifle. If you want a battle tested Red Rifle, this is it. They were sold for $999, so people paid $999.

If their prices go up in the future, I am lucky to have bought one now. If they go down, I will get another one. In the meantime, I am having a lot of fun shooting my T81.
 
It’s almost impossible to get the low down on a gun on the Internet .... most advice is given by people that have never shot let alone owned whatever firearm in question.

Or they compare it to something that’s $3,500.

saw one on the EE yesterday for $900 - no idea if it sold or not, but that's less than retail for sure.
 
Meh, they cost $1000 now. Oh well. Pay it or don't. Fwiw, ti seems to have sold around 1000 of them at this price without trying too hard.

In fact, you could argue they were almost indifferent about their customers or sales volumes.

Not quite, but I guess you’re new(er) to the shooting sports. $1000 is highway robbery, but so is most everything else these days.
The only thing I’m really, really not digging on the ‘81 is the location of the mag release.
 
Mag release is perfect.

When I lose all my dexterity while shooting in a disruptive environment I can reload using the other mag, althewhille looking cool during the change.

Cant do that with a 200$ Crapcoed out SKS...lol..

First 10 rounds out of my T81, Straight out of the box and fired. even left a nice gouge in the handguard... lmfao

Never actually practiced this type of mag change, and was surprised how easy it is...lol... with more practice and more trigger time im sure ill get much better.

But the stupid 5 round rules, along with the ridiculous safety selector doesn't make it appealing to actually train with.

It's nothing more than a nice plinker unfortunately. My round count is at 260 I think, Will see how long she goes before it requires a cleaning...lol...

This is the upteenth thread on this rifle and I'm ashamed to admit I've read them all. I bought two of these a fixed and folder and after several hundred rounds I'm impressed, I researched this rifle well before placing a pre order and certainly wasn't expecting a piece of firearm jewelry, those that did will be sorely disappointed.
For me at least it functions as expected, I can throw the cheapest steel cased corrosive ammo down the tube and not one ftf fte, not so for my mini 30 or the ar I built in 7.62 they require a more refined diet.
As for the naysayers comparing them to an sks well to me at least that's a fair comparison except for the removable mag accuracy and function are on par. To them I say go and get a commercial mfg to build a new sks and see what it cost.
Again accuracy is comparable to my mini 30 which I believe cost somewhere in the neighborhood of 1200 now although the mini has a better fit and finish. For me it was a good purchase and I'm not concerned about what Poly mfg made these for or what profit TI made off them, Take a look at some on line auctions in the states and see what few there are sell for, you'll be shocked I guarantee, supply and demand always rule.
Those that bought and paid the G and like them for the most part don't mind the price, those that don't like the rifle sell it on EE or send them back, those that didn't buy I just send their comments to the peanut gallery where they belong.

I can't remember when I wasn't shooting... Been in love with guns since I got my Grandfathers 28gauge shotgun for my 8th birthdday, lol... Its just more expensive now... Funny i don't feel robbed at all.
