How did you guys remove the nut that the stock handguard affixes to?
I have an SLR I want to put on.
I have an action vice block for the AR 10, I don't want to reef the crap out of it and damage it though.
I also have a new bbl I want to install on it, that I can watch some tutorials on YouTube, which I have done already.
Upgrades so far are:
TriggerTech flat trigger
SLR Adjustable Gas Block
Magpul buttstock
Quick detach swivels
Vortex 4-16x50 scope
Raptor charging handle
Brownells BCG
I took the muzzle brake off and used a thread protector.
One thing I have noticed so far is, the trigger pins are out of spec. After replacing the stock trigger, the pins wouldn't stay in.
I luckily bought a DPMS complete parts kit, and the replacement pins work well.
After the bbl and handguard are changed out, the only thing stock will be the upper and lower, the buffer, and buffer tube.
I'm likely going to change those out, and get a silent captured buffer, and will need to change the tube as well, as they are an odd length.
No. It's a batch of 4 gen 1.
Ryan offered to trade an pre order gen 2 for 1 of these.
I jumped on it.
I'm sure yours will be in soon enough.
So the 3/16 wrench goes where?
Right on, got it now, thank you!
I have a receiver vise block, that's what I'll be using. I also have go/nogo gauges. I got the criterion from Brownells. Hoping it works out well. It's a 20", pretty light though.
That and the SLR, I'm hoping to shave some weight off.
Hoping I got the right nut with mine....
