Why ruger 10/22.....

...point, as others have mentioned, that you can have no Ruger parts in your 'Ruger' rifle. (Like a Glock.)

They are a little less fun with the 10 round rotary mags than the 100 round drums and 25 round mags, but I solved that by buying a dozen or so rotary mags.

It's very sad, the arbitrary (and in this case factually-incorrect) games that the RCMP-CFC plays ...

What is sadder, is the Liberals are letting this 2nd class Police Force continue making up their self serving interpretations of the law...... All I did is go and buy another type of .22 and 4 more 25 round magazines, yup the RCMPs new Butler Creek laws have made Canadians so much safer. ... Amatuers...

Skip the Ruger and go straight to a Canadian made DAR22 - Dlask Arms

Better finish stupid accurate and reliable. So nice I had to buy another one for my son.

What stock, how is the accuracy. Im SERIOUSLY contemplating on one.

Would it be easier to call in my order or place it online?

I was thinking call in because their generic build I will be changing almost everything on lol.

First gun I bought was a 10/22 blued synthetic stock. I have also owned the following semi-autos: marlin 795, Remington 597, Henry survival rifle, Savage 64 , Nylon 66, and a Browning SA22
Only one I liked enough to keep was the 10/22. I've shot all the others quite extensively but I found myself coming to the same conclusion; the fit/finish and reliability of the 10/22 was noticeably better than the rest (the SA22 is the exception to build quality but I could never get it reliable).

I have a standard 10/22 for plinking. It has a few thousand through it and has always treated me well. Recently got a magnum research .22 with graphite barrel and aftermarket stock. Excited to take it out, I have high expectations from it

Sad to see my VLEH is out of production. I've had so much fun with it, I can't begin to tell you. High round count has had no effect on the 5 shot ragged holes it makes. I will have to say the VQuart trigger @ 2lbs, makes it.

What upgrades other than the trigger have you done to your VLEH? Or was that it? Is the rest stock??

Any time there is a thread with mention of 10/22, you will find a wide variety of opinions and experience. Some guys can't wait to slag the 10/22 and some can't see any fault with them. I used a 1997 10/22 for shooting gophers. Pumped a pile of ammo through it. Then, just as a lark, I used a RIA clone for gophers. Again, no problems. I have about 9 or 10 different 10/22's as an informal collection.

Each to his own. If I had to pick just one semi .22, I would take a 10/22 any day of the week.

I would call in and speak with Leigh he can give u a run down of different options on your build. It’s a hogue stock, I highly recommend adding a Kidd single stage trigger pack. It’s an amazing trigger.

Thanks, im a sucker for 2 stage triggers... Love them. I dumped over 2g's into a bolt gun to hit the 1/2" chal and I want to do it with a semi now.

10/22 is great - you will want one for the simple fact that they are fun! Great little 22's for a great price. I've been through 5 of them, and I have one in the mail right now. My favorite is my takedown lite in the magpul backpacker X22 stock. Simply the best little 22 i've ever had. The nice thing is, ruger has some amazing and accurate 22s in bolt action as well. My ruger american rimfire shoots CCI tacticals into a cloverleaf at 50 all day long (as long as my eyes don't get tired or the swedish bikini team isn't on the range with me) but I have a much nicer cope and a bipod on that for stability, and I try to shoot it accurately. The ruger precision rimfire is on the way and its getting amazing reviews everywhere. Why do I bring this up? they all use the same mags - those reliable and awesome 50+ year old 10 round flush to the bottom rotary mags.

I've stuck with ruger and my first 22 was the 10/22. I've since wanted more accuracy and found it in ruger. since so many of the ruger offerings play nice together my 22 collection is strong and interchangeable. Something else to consider when thinking about the sport - interoperability - grab an ammo can full of mags n ammo and not worry if you have the right ones, and so many other benefits.

CCI tacticals work in all my 22s amazingly well it's my favorite 22 ammo, but CCI mini mags work just as well in the semi's (funny enough, the tactical, which is made for semis, but is so consistent out of the factory, works very well in bolt action, which consistency = accuracy)
